I tuned my HPH the way I like it, but my SMC just isn't working right for me. I think it's tuned too tight, anyways, I'm going to try and tune it myself. But pointers are always welcome... any suggestions on the reed placement to the tone board?

Matt, I'm sending you a pm with instructions on tuning your short reed, check your inbox.

The reed needs to fit into the tone channel as perfectly as you can get it at the top.....as flush to the top of the channel as possible. If it overlaps it will sound real distorted and if too much gap is left, it will be real airy and make little sound....leave about 3/4 or probably a bit less of the reed showing above the wedge and see where that gets you....hope this helps....

I'm having problems too,my SMH is tuned in fine, but I'm having a tough time with my HPH,and especially with my Cackler.Just can,t get them to sound quite right.Does the Cackler only have 1 O-ring?Mine only has 1,and I'm afraid I might have lost 1!Thanks,Brant
