I am a relatively new member to the Strait Meat team. I purchased my first goose call a couple months ago and am very pleased. I am curious how I can get started in Comp. calling. I know I am by no means better than anyone, but I do have good control over my call. There are only a few sounds that I have yet to master, and they are the ones that I heard in the down and dirty portion of everyone's routine at the International.

If anyone can explain some of the low down sounds used in competition, or even if they're just variations of the spit/willis notes, please help. I'm trying to get involved in the goose calling scene.

Yep what kingkilla said. In Foiels goose calling 2.0 he goes through an entire competition routine and he has a clip of the Illinios state champ's routine. Its his whole routine, but Jeff does go through a whole calling routine. I think they're 20 bucks. It'll help ya out on how to read and call birds also. Has anyone checked out the duck calling CD? I wanna check it out also.

Thanks for the info. I'm not terribly new to goose calling, there is just one sound that i heard used between growls that is haunting me. I think I'll check out the DVD.
