Guys, just got a call from stillwaters Mark Beam, and He gave the great news that Stillwater Outfitters has just signed the leases on the former Kodak property!! The Kodak property will consist of 6 pits or blinds 2 water and 4 pits. this is a piece of property that hasn't ben hunted and full of ducks and geese since the 50's. I have hunted all around this over the years watching literally thousands of birds fallin into those lakes and fields only dreamin of huntin them, now it will be a reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait. The Stillwater crew runs the best operation in the states and are a big part of the FA and Foiles Migrators crew. Thanks again Mark and Shane for leasing one of the best goose and duck holes in the states!!
I f ya want a great hunt in Jan. or Feb. I would suggest callin Mark now and booking as I am sure they will fill up quick. Check out their web site. Thanks and GOOD HUNTIN!!! Jeff

Yes this property is located in Windsor Colorado.Like Jeff said it has probably never been hunted.I drive by this area on a weekly basis during the hunting season. This area is know for the amount of waterfowl that frequents it through out the season.Once local hunting pressure pushes them from the usual hot spots this is where the birds will be.

I have a lease just a couple of miles from there, its unreal. That is one hell of a property. Do you know if Stillwater is going to keep the whole property for their hunts or are the going to try and sub-lease any of them out I would love to get my hands on one.

This still may help us out pushing those birds around, we saw alot of birds go down in that area with no pressure. Do you know the exact couny roads that the property borders?

Alot of guys out here are pretty worried about Stillwater hunting this property. I have heard a lot of rumors such as the city of Windsor making the property incorprated with the city limits so they cant hunt it. Alot of guys have wondered how well the property will be managed with the hunting. There are thousands of birds that roost there all year long and I was just wondering if any of you guys had any insite as to how Stillwater plans to address these issues?

Thanks

I wouldnt worry about how Shane and Mark will manage the propert for birds. They have been at this a very long time and know a little bit about not burning an area. I hunted with them for 4 days last year and we were never even within an hour of the spot we were the day before. It's a very good peration or they wouldnt produce the numbers that they do. I have no clue what the city is going to do. I'm not sure of the geography or how close it is to town but city's are generally a little shy of taking on outlying areas. If they incorporate it they suddenly are responsible for the maintenance of roads, water, sewer and other utilities. They would much rather let the counties pay for that in most cases.

Its about mile from the city limits of Windsor. The city incorperatingit is just what ive heard through the grapevine, dont know how accurate the info is. I have two fields within a mile of where Stillwater has fields and I know that they are good about not overhunting thier fields. I was just curious about how they would handle having probably the best hunting property in Colorado. Thanks for the insite Kelly.

So, help educate me, I was reading wildfowl, and it says Stillwater hunts/leases over 70 properties? is that right? Was that pre-Kodak? Sounds like they got the Colorado Grip!

Yeah that was pre-kodak. Stillwater has fields all over CO from Brighton to Frot Collins. I have a few properties just a mile or so from Stillwaters fields and they dont screw around. This kodak propety is no exception. Its basically the major roost for alot of northern Colorado. Mark Beam scored a big one.

So what does that say about geese holding in your area? Is there alot of reserves around there?

That is one thing that everyone in my area is worried about. As Kelly said earlier they will manage it affectively. So fingers crossed lets hope that happens. If you want to see a bunch of people freaking out go to www.coloradowaterfowl.com and find the goose hunting forum and read all the posts about the kodak property.

Dont worry man, Stillwater does day hunts, you can still get in on the birds for like $350 a hunt, not too bad!

We talked it over here at the club, and we have decided to throw in a bid for the Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary. Sub leases WILL be available for one TRILLION dollars.

H-Unit you would have to go out there to understand what the poor guys in Colorado are dealing with. I saw more geese feeding in the divider between the freeway lanes getting to a field than I saw hunting all day in Illinois. The area is like a miniature Canada...theres really nothing like it. We were driving home and saw several collared birds within yards of the interstate. Its very VERY good hunting just about everywhere up there.

Thank you kelly. I went out to one of the major roosts today just 2 or 3 miles from one of my fields and it already has 8-10 thousand birds on it and im sure it will have double or triple that in a couple weeks cant wait for the season to start. Kelly are you guys going to be filming out here, if so when.

Thats great, hell thats awesome. But if thats really the case, then why wasnt the Kodak property opened up earlier? obviously there isnt a need for a holding reserve, right?

I'm not sure but I'm thinkin the property changed hands and the new owners are a little friendlier to the cause...but thats speculation. Theres a ton of holding areas up there from what I saw. Jeezus the High School football field was holding a couple hundred when we went to lunch one day.

the stillwater boys are going to baby this thing like you wouldn't believe .
it is going to be like 3 or 4 years before city limits takes over there are tons of ruffed up feathers over this hole deal.
there was a change in ownership which when this took place they offerred it . which for the stillwater crew this is a great lease which will make hunting in surronding areas better.
we hunt a couple of fields dirctly east of there which means when there hunting it or hunting can only get better.
