I want to get another boat mainly for hunting waterfowl and going up the Missouri river to hunt deer but also to fish out of. What boat brands do you all recomend, length, motors, horsepower?

Two come to mind. Both have their pro's and con's. 90 horse merc and I am looking at a 20. The other half seems to think the 19 is more then suitable. hehehe
Roughneck (http://www.lowe.com/fishboats/roughneck/R2070VPT.html)
War Eagle (http://www.wareagleboats.com/boats/category.asp?category=20)
The both offer plenty of accessories to get you the boat you want.

Is having the V-Bottom real important to help keep the motor clean because my jon boat right now doesn't have the v-bottom and weeds get all over in my motor but maybe its just where I like to take it.

Of all the different brands out their, I like SeaArk, War Eagle, Triton, Polarkraft, and for a less expensive option, Tracker Grizzly. We have two boats, a 19 footer with a 60, and a 16 footer with a 25. Some lakes in Illinois won't allow you to use bigger than 25 hp moteors which necesitates the second boat for me. I prefer the modified v-hull myself for bigger water and rough water, but my smaller boat is a flat bottom jon, and it is fine on smaller lakes.
Just do your research, and buy the best you can afford.

I hunt primarily "Big Water" never really had a need for a surface drive. I know they have theyre place and are indispensible when you need one. Just not for me.
