When sending a goose call to the shop for new guts and tuning...

-Does one need to pay for both the tuning and guts?
-Who normally does the goose call tuning?
-When shipping the call do I need to put in a note attention to "said person" on how I'd like them tuned?

I'm almost positive the $15.00 covers new guts and reed when your call gets tuned, Most of the time Drew does all the tuning.

Just put a note in the box when you ship and Lisa or Sue will pass that along on how you'd like it tuned when they recieve your call.

Be sure to include your name, address and daytime phone number. Send it to us by way of USPS, UPS or Fedex to be sure to have a tracking number. If you have owned your call (purchased new) for more than 1 year, the fee is $15. We will tune as many calls you own for that price if you want to send them in at the same time. Retunes are free for the first year. We normally ship retuned calls out the day after we receive them.

--If I am reading that right, you can send as many as you have and the 15 bucks will cover it. So if you have more than 1 call, I'd send them all.

The $15.00 dollar tuning fee does include reeds/guts or wedges as needed for both duck and goose calls.

It also covers priority mail/insurance and conformation shipping back to you.

I've never undserstood how anyone that can't tune their own calls can adequately describe how they want a call tuned? I'd guess most of 'em go back to dead stock...

I'm talking about calls that I have bought used and came with that persons broken in guts...I can't use a call like that; its probably just me though.

Yes they with be close to stock, I'm still learning the fine tuning game as I go. Just started learning to use the short reed in Feb '08.

Barry that is correct sir. That $15 does cover everything...guts, tuning, shipping, and that for how ever many calls you have to send in.

i dont get how someone cant tune a goose call...im not saying its the easiest thing to do but if you wanna sit there and blow then you should sit there and teach yourself how to tune it..just my opinion but hell ill let people send me money to tune their calls for em!! :D

I agree 100 percent!!! It might take youa bit to get right but you'll be a better caller and every time you tune it you'll get better

Yep take it apart yourself. After my guts came out for the first time ever it took like 4 hours to get it back. I could have it back exactly where it was in about 2 minutes now. Gotta be independent sometime. What if you're hunting and you bump the tone board up? Gotta learn to get it back.

Too many things on here about tuning this and tuning that. What is the exact process your using to "tune". Are you shaving down the reed size, doing something to the wedge or tone board, adding length to the reed and if so what side? I'm all for people learning to do these things, but as an amatuer, can you seasoned veterans explain in detail what to do??????
Thanks
