Ive had my SMH about 1 month now. I bought callin geese 2.0 and have been practicing. I have trouble getting a decent feeding growl going though. I cant seem to find a happy medium, im either not putting enough air through or im putting too much and almost getting a cluck. Any help would be appreciated

You kinda need to actually growl into the call. GrrrrrGrrrrrGrrrr kind of thing. Thats the only way I know how to do a feeding growl. Also dont use too much air, if you use too much air it wont come out as a growl.

You might try using your voice more , kinda hard to explain , if i'm doing low end deep stuff , i have a deep vibration in my throat kinda like humming a base note, and then push air thru the call at the same time, hope this helps.

i had this issue when i was new too, hey that rhymed, lol, anyway yeah i noticed that when i did the grrrrrgrrrrgrrrrrrr i got a lot of clucks so i compinsated by closing my had off more, and then i figured out when i say DuhhhhDuhhhhDuhhhhh its all growl and its hard to get a cluck that way, so i switch back and forth Grrrrrrgrrrrr when i want it to cluck and duhhhhhduhhhhhduhhhhh when i want a straight growl, you can say DerrDerrDerrrrr too i think its pretty much the same, try it out and lemme know what you come up with PM me if you have any other issues..
growling w/your throat. Ths way I learned was take the first part of a
honk and just try to growl along with that that breath. once you figure
that part out, just cut it into shorter sections and you should get the
grrrgrrrgrrr sound. good luck.

I like to use a little throat growl Grrr Grrr, but I also choke the call down more by closing my hand down more around the insert. then if you want to pull a cluck out of it, you simply open your hand a little more.
