I got back to Illinois on the 1st and hunted every day on the farm. Killed a ton of geese and got 1 band. The best time was hooking up with Tarpo and hunting a cornfield off lake springield in layout blinds. We didn't see a goose till 1030am. After 1030 we had close to 3,000 geese in and out of the field. At one time we had around 100 working our decoys and hanging in the air over our heads because the wind was so strong. We could have shot 12 limits in 2 hours. It was an awsome day and I got a new hunting friend. Can't wait till next year when we put another pit in. Shot a ton of geese and 2 coyotes. Shot my band when a single came in and walked through the decoys. He was from Ontario and was banded 2004. Had a great time home on leave. Had pictures but my old man smashed the camera while unloading decoys. Also shot a 13 pound canadian with big white spots all over his chest. never seen anything like it. Anybody have a clue????

Kayla you missed out on a awsome day and hunt. Next year we are gonna have to get it planned out. Tarpo and I couldn't believe the birds. If we would have had your number on our phones we were gonna call you and give you some ****. NEXT YEAR???????????

That was one of the best goose hunts I have ever been on, at one point we had close to 100 geese working us at one time. it was sick. its hard to call a shot on a low goose just over the dekes when there are 60 locked up and committed behind him!! Great hunt with great company. I definately look foreward to future hunts with you man.

here is one of the geese.

if it had white spots like that one pictured, they call that a "quills lake goose"

Duckman thanks for serving our country. My season has been pretty mediocre this year because my dad is in Bahrane right now. He deployed the first week of hunting season and gets back on the last day. Talk about bad luck. I never realized how much my favorite hunting buddy was my dad until he wasn't there.
