where are the geese at!??

just wondering if anyone in MI is seeing geese!?!? i havent seen these birds feed in 3 days!!!!just curious to see if anyone else is putting them down? i knwo they are here but the 2 feet of snow has got em locked down..

I've been out scouting lately and havent been seen the birds fly until 12:30-1...and im not finding them in the big numbers like I have before, its been 50 here and 50 there..Hunted all day saturday and the birds were still flying at 3:00.....lemme know what guys are seeing

Get ready for the big one..Blizzard like conditions starting tonight. 4-6" tonight, and then 5-8" later on in the week. This is going to suck, we already have at least a foot and a half. You know theres a ton of snow when you drill a hole for ice fishing and a **** load of water comes up.

you see your waking up at the asscrack of dawn. You need to sleep in relax eat breakfast drink a pot or two of coffee let the truck warm up good and long maybe a few extra minutes with the old lady 8) then go scouting around noon or later thats when we've been seeing em and killing them.

Hope you find them soon nobody likes it when you get hot and bothered. :D

Based on the mild January in Ontario there are still local geese there hoppin' from lakes to our corn fields but its going to get to -24 someday this week so they might leave soon.

Gotta open your eyes son! Gregg and I shot 7 Sat. and 6 Sun. Seen at least 200 in one of the fields I can hunt and another 100 or so in another field that was last night. Don't know if this weather pushed them a little further south or not but I can bet they are gonna set tight for awhile.

nope....sorry but i do know where he was and earlier in the week there was probably 300 in that field but they were flying in super late like 2 or 3 in the afternoon.

I know where they're at but, they roost there. Plus my dad had 200-300 for a week straight went in there two days in a row sat til noon one day they showed up at 1 then the next day sat til 2 and they never showed. I guess if I wanted to go jump shoot geese I could, but what fun is that?

oh boy here we go,

first let me say that I don't hunt with Lewis. If he was violating and trespassing and all that jazz don't you think he would be in court more than in fields. He's just another guy that is passionate about what he does.

Second he drives a BIG ASS BUSINESS CARD FOR A TRUCK he's got more information on that truck about how to reach him So ifhe was doing something illegal he probably wouldn't have hunting rights in the state of Michigan.


Don't get me wrong we all get upset when birds are scarce and you have somebody just blowing the **** out of birds. While were still scouting but hey thats hunting.

Obviously were not talking about the same spot either because it wasn't a roost it was a field a good mile downwind of the roost.

In no means am i saying i only blow foiles, lewis, bgb, whatever I use what performs and what gets geese in our face simple as that. EXCEPT ZINK HE'S JUST A DOUCHE!

hope this cleared **** up lets not let this be another thread that has to be ended with kelly laying the hammer guys lets just go shoot some geese in the face!

It obvious you don't know but many people have had run ins with him including people that I hunt with, also his own brother called my friend, I believe his brothers name is Eric and even told my buddy how much of a tresspasser he is.

I was talking about a roost spot I have, I don't hunt that area because of all the violators. I had a field up near stump bay with 1000 in it and my dad told me there was 10 trucks sitting there watching it and the following day were several guys in there. So why waste my time.

like i said i don't hunt with him don't own but one of his calls which i won at a delta event. I was just making sure that nobody runs **** on guys they don't know and I'm NOT saying you do. those people know who they are and most people know better than to listen to them anyways. These people do it out of jelousy anyways everyone wants to have more land, more birds and even more ***els.

hey i like mayer he'll talk your ear off and he does know his products (don't know why that would be) and the guys he hunts with i know them fairly well to be modest.

like I said before we are all frustrated cause today were all laid up on the couch watching tv and waiting for the next reply to be posted.

I hope we do get back to slaying them this weekend. I know Lewis, have for about six years, talk to him a the MSGA every year ever and a couple shows each year. I think he's an ok guy, we'll leave it at that.

Sorry about the dust up! I've known of them for a long time never really had a problem in any fields I will say they are some confident mofo's and not afraid to tell ya. Great lakes you are right about thats hunting I have permmisin in that field also. Along with some fields Mayer has permission in I give 2 ****s less. The only thing nobody will up wind me!! I just try to get along and have'em join up with me or me with them solves alot of heart ache and everybody can hopefully kill something. Thanks for the reply.

Here is my take on it all....everyone whines like a bunch of f-ing babies when someone makes statements about Jeff, Fred zink, or any other companies, so why not call Lewis and ask him if he violates, stead of smathering his name all over the internet saying that you heard his brother's uncles grandpas prostitute told ya. If he is a violator and people have such a big problem with it, call the Report all poaching hotline...its real simple.

NO ONE was on duty? I know for a fact they don't use that terminology (anymore at least). Because if there is a credible source to bust someone for whatever violation, they will have an officer come from another county. Hiring one more per county? Where did you hear that? There is 2 for county right now, with several vacancies and there are alot of guys coming out of academy. I have no clue who this Lewis Character is, however, I know he has a good Michigan following. Personally I can't speak for the guy himself or his hunting ethics, but his calls are well below par IMO. I'm sure some guys can run them like a Vegas call girl train, but I can't.

We have been shooting the crap out of them in Northern Indiana. But with this cold weather. birds have been leaving! Only open until the 18th! Hope there are some around for the february season.
