It hadnt occured to me before now that almost every video I've ever watched on goose hunting, every instructional clip or dvd, all dealt with hunting geese in fields. Not once have I seen someone do it over water. Now I've killed a few geese over the past season hunting stricly on the water, but not nearly some of the numbers I've seen other put up hunting in fields. And there definitely hasn't been a lack of geese travelling up the river where I hunt.
So my question is, is there a difference in how you should call, flag, set decoys, etc. when hunting over land versus hunting over water?

When we hunt on the water we 2-3 dozen floaters depending if early or late season. Calling is softer, yes we flag. No special way to set the decoys. Usually a line going out into the larger part of the lake or into a cove. Depending on the size of water your hunting, etc. Still want a pocket in some shape.

Well around here, the water is pretty much their loafing spots, we try to run mainly resters/sleepers to go along with this and use "easy" calling,
Obviously most of them feed in the fields and therefor we want to run alot of feeders( i use whatever I have), and alot of the double clucks and quick stuff like the geese are havingf a feeding frenzy and try to make it seem like the the birds are missing out on some good corn or whatver...
