Found a field yesterday that had mallard just bombin in to it. Got with the landowner and he said we was OK to hunt it that afternoon. Went out and the only hid we had was to lay on a dirt hill...didnt work out so well but we put some on the ground. When we were leaving the landowner and his kids came out and talked to us...wanted to know what ammo we were using. I asked why and he said we were peppering the feed lot. the feedlot was a LOOOOOOOONG way off. Guess the new Winchester Extended Range really is extended. So he asks if we want to hunt it again and I said hell ya. he wanted me to take the kids out the next morning.
We set up and the ducks are burniong us cuz we have no hide. So we got some tree branches and built a makeshift one. First time these kids have had ducks in decoys and they got some killed. Pretty damn good time. They ask me what we need to do to make a blind and I told them to get a backhoe and dig a pit. They were heading out there with a backhoe before I hit the gate. their Dad told me anytime I want to hunt it to just go do it. I told him to tell the boys to just call if they want to shoot it and I'll come out and show 'em how since it's only 10 minutes from the house. Done deal...hooked the kids up with some Legends and they are fired up now.
