I have a .223 ruger and a .308 AR both work great.. .223 ammo is quite a bit cheaper though

.204 are awsome. 22-250, .223, .243, or what ever you feel like taking with you. As for 12 gauge # 4 buckshot seems to be a big favorite from what I hear. Hope this helps! :D

If you are going to use your AR I would go with Hornaday 62 grain V-max bullets. They are the quickest around for the AR, but they get alittle costly. Second choice is Black Hills ammo. You can get remans. and they use hornaday's brasses and get the 55 grain v-Max. You have a grat twist ratio with the AR so get the more grains you can and you can get even longer shots and better kills. Just my 2 cents

Tika 22-250 Hornady 55 grain rounds. I
I had a AR-15 in 223 but I never got a chance to take more then 1 shot at a time. I found it to be a tad overkill.

223 but going to a 220 swift. This was yesterday with a savage model 10 223 127 paces federal cheap bullets and cheap scope that comes with the gun. Makes a great truck gun!

well this year during deer season I put the hurtin with 2 3/4" 1 oz slugs...but if you want the hide, not a good choice.
Same with the .270 with 130 gr. Fusions rip about 3" holes lol.
Usually when we are actually chasing yoters or bobs we use .22-250 for long range and 3" #4 buck out to 60 yards or so.

i use a .280 rem with 100 grain sierra varminter hollowpoints for coyotes, woodchucks, and them such critters, and 150 grain nosler ballistic tips for deer. great gun.

How big of a hole does the .280 put into them? I know what my .270 can do in can just imagine what anything bigger would do!

.204 is a amazing round for yotes.....but a .223 AR is my fav now because it's so much cheaper to shoot
I dont hunt coyotes, cause we dont have em around here, so I know nothing about em. But I have a question, What do you guys do with em after you shoot em?

tan the hides and hang the fur on the wall or find someone who sales the fur and give it to them (for a price of course)

Since shooting coyotes is all the rage today not many peel em. First it's hard work, second you have to put them up and number 3 you need to find a buyer. Like that head shot in an earlier post buyer wants that mess and what fur harvester wants to skin that mess out.
Here's my new coyote rifle, 20 Tactical built on a 700 action, shilen trigger, Lilja Barrel, McMillan Stock.

I shoot most of my yotes with my X3 PM choke, and 4 buck, or dead yote. The dead yote is expensive tho. I use my 220 Swift for the long open field shots. I also use the 25/06 alot. As far as what we do with em, we skin every one of em, and either sell em or give em to orgs. that wanta tan em.
