Just wanted to share this and get some of Your takes on this, Seems that every time We advertise a World title win there is always someone tryin to take it away and tell Us or me that Easton is the only world contest. 1st of all it is really easy to get a trademark on a name if no one else has it. The name World goose is trademarked by the folks who run it in Easton. Does this make it the only one, hardest to win, most competitors, biggest crowd and best run?? Well here is how it goes 30 point scoring spread rather than 10 like all other major contest, problem is You could lose it in the 1st round by not being able to catch up on points. World contest then we deseve world class judges from around the world, maybe 1 from the east coast, 1 from the west, 1 from the midwest and 2 from Canada. Sound fair? well it seems as though we have 3 Maryland Game wardens, don't know their qualifications and 2 from Tenn. If You have ever watched a goose callin contest the callers walk all over the stage as they do their routine , always have. This year at the "Worlds" the callers are in a curved brushed in area kinda like half a tilt a whirl facing the crowd, told don't step forward and don't turn around. I watched callers from all call makers twist and turn probably not being able to do there routine like they have at every contest since they started. Well we will see what happens tomaorrow at the "Worlds" or maybe the "Maryland Worlds" jeff

Forgot to tell You 26 contestants and 60 people watching, not much of a turnout for the "worlds"

I think a World Championship is a World Championship no matter where it takes place. Whether it be in Canada or the US or wherever. It definitely should be judged by qualified judges, past champions, retired contestants or those who are aware of the criteria that makes up a contest routine by todays standards. The level of competion gets raised every year...
I am not saying that who they have judging this might not be qualified. I dont know but there creditials should be known. Why cant it be judged by judges that are known in the industry...
Last year some of the judges were past Champions Shawn Stahl, Kelly Powers the other guys Im not sure of of the other three off the top of my head. And why is that the judges for this contest were such a mystery leading into this event...
Well that just my two cents ....
Hopefully after tomrrow night there will be another STRAIT MEAT Worlds Champion....
Bring it home tomrrow night BIG SEAN !!!!!

Damn Boss you know theres no rules to this game. It's the "Worlds" - they can make the rules as they go.
Sounds like everyone has some serious adjustments to make not being able to move around, kinda kills the way you put a routine together really. How are the boys going to moderate tone and volume levels to simulate a flock coming? How will they be able to let the judges hear the complexities of the real nice low end work if they cant put it in their ears? Dont seem right to me but best of luck to the boys!

Im no Contest Caller By anymeans, but ive seen a couple and been researching it since last season, and that has to be about the most ludicris, thing i have ever heard, what are they supposed to so stand completely still, thas retarded, have any of you ever not turned around in your laydown blind to talk to birds behind you, or spun 180 in the pit, to call to passin birds, i mean come on this isnt a Spectator sport, its not really about the people watchin, its about whos on stage, we all know they can call, and we all know they can kill geese, they wouldnt be on that stage if they didnt have those two qualifications, as far as the judges i agree with Jeff, and Jayson, it should be people from all over, and it should be people that have had thier foot in the contest door for year, but the problem i see with other callers being judges, they know how to break down a routine, and it probably wouldnt be hard to remember someones routine from the other especially being at more than one contest and hearing the same routine over and over, like someone who has heard Big Seans routine at 5 different contests could easily recognizes it from say Hunters` routine, not im not saying that would be an easy task but its certainly possible, and for the contest to stay fair it should be as bias as possible, as far as anything else, i cant wait to get down there today and hear Big Sean lay the Smack down, Good luck to All, and Bring it Home Big Sean, oh yeah, and to Jeff, i hope you got some Max4 Calls Left, cause im bringin some loot with me, and the only calls that hang on my lanyard, all have your name on them.....thanx for a great looking and most important a great sounding call, my only wish is i got into the sport sooner so that i could be part of the Straight Meat Team, but i look forward to Seasons of the future, and many great hunts to come thanx the Foiles Migrators..........Just my $.02 Justin

We pullin for Big Sean!!! Mabye at the next " Worlds" they should hide the callers as well as the judges??? That way no one knows how who won untill its over. Not even the judges. People can still listen. YO.

well maybe im full of it but I think duck callers and goose callers should be able to move around as much as they want,I mean like you (jeff) once told me at iowa that I paid for that 90 seconds, its my stage,so therefore callers should be able to do whatever they want while on the stage, its our fault if we dont watch the light and get dq'd,or maybe we should have free entry fee's since we dont get our paid time! Judges on the other hand I believe should be past like really long past winners of contests,or know what they there judging on.I do believe if the judge is the right person and knows someones routine that there buddies with, well there yurs winner!!!Hope this makes since.

Another point is that I dont think that call makers should be judges. PERIOD . They are going to favor the call they make and they know the sounds their call . A contest should be fair to all who enter!!!
