Is a cackler call a good call to add to your lanyard? Is it worth the investment? (Looking for advise)

I personally think they are a good call to have. I owned one and I had to sell cause I needed the money. They are a small call but very fast. I have called to geese before that wanted to land in a field across the road from us and I picked this call up and went to town on it. With a bit of flagging and blowing this call it brought them right over and right on in. The only thing is that I tuned mine to be a bit deeper than what it was when it came to me but other wise an awsome powerful little call. Works very well, very fast Call! :D Hope this helps.

If you already have an SMH, HPH, MH or a Showtime, I would say yes. The SMC has a higher pitch, which gives a different tone the geese sometimes want to hear. It's also capable of delivering faster successive notes.

If it's your first custom short reed, I would consider something a little more middle of the road, sound-wise, like the SMH or the MH.

i still need to get one when i get some cash but i would only get it if u have some other goose calls,it is higher pitched and faster but can be tunned lower also if ur hunting an area with smaller geese yes get one , but it can be just as affective on giants .

I love foiles calls, but check out the RNT Dirty Bird, I have mine tuned a bit deeper and its is an awesome call!

The Cackler is the most overlooked call in the Foiles line-up, just an opinion.

Tune it a little deeper than stock and hold on.
