ok i now what you are saying but wouldnt ducks get wierd around the spread
i've had geese come into them while duck hunting but not often. i say if it's flarin them then turn it off . most people u talk to if not everyone turns them off and or takes them down while goose hunting that i know of. that is why i always ? 'd the mojo goose ? u say not to tell u to turn it off but that maybe the answer ! the art of hunting is about being able to adapt to the situations were in if we want to be succesful hunters .

While hunting a river spot mainly for ducks, but have out some goose decoys as well,I have had groups of geese show some interest until they see the mojo spinning.Easy fix, punch the remote and shut er off, they commit and and we kill em.Turn it back on when the ducks fly by and do the same to them.
Geese tend to shy from the spinning wing movement, hence why the mojo goose decoy never really sold to well, and the few who did buy them can hardly give them POS's away.

If your goin to run mojos I seen them work best in #'s, like 2-5 goin at once..........Just think of how many people have just one mojo in their spread?....everybody these days.........

yes
ok i now what you are saying but wouldnt ducks get wierd around the spreadif they've been around the area a while {not migratin} chances are they'll be shy anyway , that is where a different spread , call , or location may be the ticket.

I only use a mojo a few times a year. To me they are a bigger pain to mess with then the good that they do.
Unless you are hunting a pretty big piece of water, 250 dekes being out could be your problem. In the later part of the season I use less dekes. That's just my two cents though.

we have a remote for are mojo so we can turn it off when we here geese and on some occassions for ducks if they are acting strange we will just hit the button and let out like burst of wing beats.

Out here our best hunts were over monster spreads, I read somewhere but havent tried it, they say geese will work if you put some nylon over the wings. I have hunted with remotes a few times and had geese flare, as soon as we pulled the mojos had birds finish.

I know a guy who let his mojo flare birds on two different hunts. On the third one he shot it.

i use a mallardmachine ducks like movement in the water better than a duck flaping his wings

decide if your going after geese and ducks are a bonus or ducks and geese are the bonus...that will help your decision alot.
ducks have been getting killed for decades without a mojo, it's not like a magic bullet or something but the motion does help especially on calm days. If you wanna add motion without a mojo try the mallard machine someone mentioned or the old standard jerk string for water. in fields you can use your goose flag to get ducks turned especially if you have goose decoys out.
number of decoys is going to be something you just have to learn about your areas you hunt. general rule of thumb is you need more decoys than the number of birds your trying to call in so if your trying to call in flocks of 2-3 dozen migrators i'd look at having 5-6 dozen decoys out. early season i usually run 18-24 decoys as most flocks are 7-12 birds.

Better words have not been spoken while hunting water.
I am guilty of trying to do to much and hunt both. Then I end up working harder than I should trying to focus on whatever is flying.
My buddy and I end up setting a large duck spread, with a couple small family groups of geese. I call the ducks, he calls the geese, We shoot whichever one gets there first.
