Can't wait, have a buddy going as well, hoping he enters novice duck.
My duck calling is going to be rough, but hopefully I get the goose calling in tune enough not to embarrass myself.
My xr2s are still at the shop, been a long while, have no idea if I'll get them back, but I just bought a Lares Hybrid, so this will be what I use for duck.
Still waiting on the longer reed for this as well, so not being used to this call, it should be interesting, hopefully fun anyway.

Situation as I am dealing with it.... not excuses.
A guy like me doesn't need excuses to lose, it comes naturally. Got the reed I needed, the Hybrid is running as good as I could hope for.
At least I have the balls to get up there and compete.

Atleast I have the balls to ask chick out.......
No, I just dont need to spend $40 for someone to tell me I suck at calling.......I;d rather take the old lady out and get a real prize in the end.....Something you obviously know nothing about......

My statement was referring to the rest of my post, and a statement about the nuts it takes in general for competitors to get up there, not an attack on you.
If someone tells you that you suck at calling after you get done competing, then **** them, they are a piece of ****. I mean this from the bottom of my heart, they have no business being at a contest.
I've never heard anyone say such a thing at a contest, I don't know that I've ever heard anyone even remotely put down, the guys at these events are phenomenal.
This is a great way to grow as a caller, not just a contest caller, the advice you get is invaluable, don't be so naive as to think you wont get anything out of it. Do you really think I go to win???? I am happy to make second round, but the advice and respect you get from others just for competing is worth the dough, it helps you grow a lot as a caller, which in turn helps in the field.

Miller, are you recording routines, or are you having someone record???
I would really like at least my opens recorded along side some of the others' routines to compare, but I don't know how well my camcorder will work for that.
If anyone plans on recording and doesn't mind recording mine, I would appreciate it, you can e-mail it to me, or put it up on youtube, or post it on here, or all of them I don't really care, I'd just like to be able to watch it.

C4L, I can have a buddy record you. It also sounds like a Fowlu guy is going to recording everything.

Its actually $25, and if you had any game at all you wouldnt have to take her out to get her in the sack.

Yea I heard someone is going to record everything.
Now I just gotta make sure I run clean routines. No one wants to scratch on video.
Slow motion shot of someone just as they stick their hail call, you watch as a tear slowly falls to the ground and the guy bows his head in shame... :D
Miller are you guys cooking it back home after, or are you going out for some food???? Maybe a stop at the local clam shack for some sight seeing???
Or perhaps it's the bar to forget the days disappointments...?

We're probably going to haul ass back when it's over. Al said last year when just the duck contests were on Saturday and he said they ran until 4pm. So I'm guessing with the first of 6 contests starting at 9pm, the last one won't be over until well after 4pm. And we have a 3 hour drive or so back.
