Federal Steel Shells

Hey boys, I just was wondering if anybody has patterned or shot Federal steel (Blue box, not the red box). I heard from a few people that it doesnt pattern worth a damn. But thats mostly what I shot at geese (3 1/2 inch BB's, 1550fps) this year and they seemed to perform great. I crippled very few and some and long range. I havent patterned them though. Any experience with them or patterning results would be good. Thanks

Bought two boxes, still have a box left, will never shoot it again. For some reason, it jams every time I try to eject a shell, and they pattern like crap. Couldint hit the geese I was shooting at, maybe it was just an off day though. I like Kent fasteel, and winchester steel, the stuff thats 6 bucks a box. :D

I also bought 2 boxes to try and ran back and then bought 2 cases.

Deadly man and i love them the SBE ate them up and spit um out no problems at all.

I am a great shot and have a great gun so the great ammo worked GREAT!

Straitmeatshooter, I havent had any problems with them, but I have heard from a few people that they hang up and pattern crappy. What kind of gun do you shoot? I bet it isnt a Benelli! But like hammer, I shoot a SBE and it eats 'em for dinner! I just wondered kinda if they pattern well or not. Because Benelli's will shoot shells that others wont. You get what you pay for. Thanks for the input.

i used to shoot federal and i had some problems wit them jamming in my 870, and the brassing would expand and sometimes crack which was causing the jam, but i did like like pattern, but i switched to an sbe & winchester shells, problem solved

i shoot whatever is killing things. i used the fasteel for the first time this year and loved it. went through a couple of boxes just in the late goose season. i also used the federal shells and only used half the box. so do the math. but its kind of hard to say that federal shells sux because its possible that the person may just be missing what they are shooting at as well.
