Here is from our first set of photos. More green head limits to follow they are still in the camera and I only know how to get them off of CD's. This was the first part of the season.
More to follow this was early.

I havn't shot my Benelli all year.
When the Foiles boys send me some decals I will put them on
I bought a new Extrema2 with kick off and that gun kicks butt. I love it bad angle killer shots that killed the shooter no more.
I still have to learn how to kill geese

You and I both know that bird wasn't going to fly for anything. I really wish you would stop making that comment. It is irritating to me, and that was the only bird that came in. I'm sorry if you had a bad hunt that day. You and I both know that the early season is hit and miss. Unless you are hunting in an area that has a year long resident population.
Sorry if I am comming off like a dick, but I would never make comments like that about anyone, hint at anything or diss anyone that I pay to hunt with or that takes me hunting. So again, please stop. Thanks.

Jeff sorrry if that is and has offended you. WE did the correct thing by letting him pop it on the drink.
I just say that so if I said his first goose was banded I did not want you to say "that was not his first goose I helped him get it"
Just wanted to put a disclaimer on my statement sorry to P you off dude
No biggie to me at all :D
Sorry to have offened you.

Sometimes that is what you have to do. For many people their first birds are shot on the water. I know that in the early season if we havent had good luck in the field or water we will go "jump" some ponds and even then some shots may be considered water swats, meaning the geese are starting to jump up to fly and you pop them. I dont think that anyone should be offended because there is a more important factor in the situation, that factor being that a youngster is getting involved with hunting and for that Hammer you should be proud. For that being his first "flying" goose and it was double banded that is pretty lucky, it took me a couple of years to get a double banded goose. That pic looks like it was a $100 reward, just like mine, a true trophy. Congrads!

I see you guys were one of the few to pull a snow out of Woodbury! Good deal, I knew one of you guys out there were gonna git that fella. I seen that bird on many trips to SW. Keep up the good work on the birds out there!!!
Maybe you guys would be willing to give up a field or 6?!?!?!?!?! Since you have 3/4 of the town locked up?!?!?!?!?......lol.. Just kidding.

Hey Fellas, there ain't nothing wrong with shooting birds while on the water or in the field on the ground....I love it, do it when I can......more so geese, but I as well as a few guys on the Pro-Staff will not pass up the chance.....not going to mention any names......cough, cough......Grinder....cough. If you got the opportunity to ground swat em, thats the ulitmate fooling of waterfowl I think.....sporting, maybe not, but the sporting part ended when I completly fooled em and they landed!!!!!
In fact, just last weekend, I had one land about 6 feet off the front of my XLandr, and I sat up and shot.....blew is head clean off, he was flopping, blood was shooting out, it was steaming....that my fellow forum members was awesome. But hey, thats just me.....I love doing that stuff....I think you are doing things well when you can finish em like that!!!!

Well said Nick. Putting them on the ground/water is as good as you can get. No shame in turkey shooting a goose if he lands in the dekes. Me and a buddy had about a dozen geese land 4-5 hundred yards away on a lake. We called and in 10 minutes they were swimming with our five goose decoys. Needless to say we got our limit. It was just awsome getting the geese to come that far to us in that short of time. Strait Meat calls are the sh#t.

In New Zealand its unlawfull to shot birds not in flight but I think its a great way to get kids ducks and when Ive been having a bad day sometimes the rules go out the window.Weve got some silly rules like the fact our season starts in may were the birds are building up to breading. We should be killing them in feb when are population is at its highest.More birds die of starvation in a dry year over this period than in hunting season.Nice pics by the way.
