Hey guys - i need a opinion on buying a call - I would like to get a smh or a showtime but, at my local sporting goods store they sold out of smh's because they were on sale but they have some showtimes- do u think i should get a showtime because i hear they're awesome, or wait to get a smh???

Have you considered the Market Hunter? My buddy picked one up and it's pretty impressive.

I'd say get the SMH, IMHO i really dont think you need the Show Time unless you are in contest, dont get me wrong its a great call but the SMH is THE call for hunting. I have one and love it, the next call im going to get is the Market Hunter . Having these two calls with different tones i can mix it up. Hope this helps.

SMH SMH SMH SMH have i said enough, dont get me wrong showtime is awsome even though i dont own one yet ,have 2 SMH's cocobolo and acrylic and lovem show time takes alot more air cause its made for competions! cant go wrong with a SMH you can always add a comp insert just my .02 worth

Well i'm using a showtime in contests as well as hunting , i can tune it as light as a smh or do anything on it i could do on a smh. I been using a smh for 5 or 6 years and has always been my favorite call, but i like the showtime a little better because of the smaller mouth piece, As far as being easy to blow i have mine tuned as light or if not lighter than the smh, If i was buying a new call today it would be a showtime but either one is a great call, and you shouldn't be dissappointed with either .Just my opinion..

Hunters ridge , i didn't mean to try to override you there,For the most part the showtimes are tuned harder for the stage, but you can tune them just as light as a smh, I guess i should have read the posts before i replied, Or let me say that i can tune mine as light as the smh i was using and i have my calls tuned lighter than most people do..

I will have to agree with gary on this one. If you have been calling with a short reed a while I would go with the showtime. If you tune it where it is easy to blow you can then extend the reed as you build your air up. I would have to say that at first the showtime is hard to blow but if you stick with it you will have the best sounding call.

Sorry if I confused you at all I hope this helps.

You really cant go wrong with either of them

Cant go wrong with either call, I own both, started with the SMH blew it for almost 2 years and then stepped into the Showtime. The great thing about the showtime is the depth and tone that you can get out of it. However the SMH is mellow and cool sounding. Id get both lol! It is always hard to tell someone what to buy without them blowing it infront of you. Try um both and then decide. You can always buy a Showtime and then get a SMH or vice versa.

GARY'S got it, the way the reed's tuned to you. Im not a goose stage caller yet . I have all the foiles goose calls & I have been picking up the SHOWTIME every chance I get. I love this call, it's hanging with my Market hunter & Cackler this year on my goose lanyard . I will get another SHOWTIME, tuned harder to adjust to the stage thing.

To sneakyreaper lol must be nice lol, wish i could have showtimes just laying around hell i have to save 3 paychecks just to get a damn legend, lol, j-k, anyways, my SMH is my goto call, but im falling in love with my MH, but my advice would be that the showtime prolly takes a little more air with the flared insert, no matter how light you tune it, but both are awesome calls, prolly cause they say Foiles Migrators on them, so if you cant decide which one, just do what i do, buy both...lol
