View Full Version : Game Hogs
Does everyone have one of these friends that kill everybird that falls out of the sky. We will bust a flock and he will be calling birds before they hit the ground and ones that were in the opsite direction of where he was shooting. One time we jumped this pond for geese, small pont had about 6 birds on it should have been an easy sneek and could have got them all. he takes of running across the field and bust them out of there i shot one as the circle over it lands in the pond feet up. He sees a band on it shoots it twice on the water walks out and takes the band off and tells everyone he shot it. Wish could just magicaly have birds that fall out of the sky for me and never ever miss a shot.........................i shut him a up about a week later shot four honkers in 3 shot and he didnt even have his gun loaded......funny to watch him flinch when he tried to shoot..............i asked him how many he got but wouldn't awnser

I used to hunt with a guy like that. The cure for a "I killed this and I killed that kind of guy" is to take turns shooting. After the second time we did that he never wanted to go hunting with me anymore  .
nope i hunt by my self %95 of the time !

I got a cousin like that. Every bird that gets shot when we're in a group is hit by him. Funny thing is the few times he goes out by himself he doesn't come home with anything. Last year there were a few geese that were disputed but when we brought them home to clean them, my Black Cloud (i know...I was in a moment of weakness) BB's were found  . He didn't really have an excuse for that one! It's gotten to the point that I don't even argue with him anymore. Just tell him to shut the H#%l up and keep his eyes open for more ducks. I just let him think he hits them, I guess it keeps his confidence up.

Yeah, My cousin is like that in some ways...like sometimes we'd shoot at flocks or same bird as he did, he says I got that one. Two years ago he and one other guy in my group would say i got that one and that one and run out to pick them up. Me and a friend sat back and said ok thats your bird when it got up to 5 geese (early season) I told him he's done and he wasnt happy and wanted to shoot more...well theres no party hunting in waterfowl.

You gotta luv those blond game hogs!! But seriously the only answer is to be up front (Asertive, not agressive) and let them know you are ALL there to have a good time. Notice I hilited all. Then if they don't take the hint move on with someone else!! Been there Done That!!
