i was recently trying out duck calls, the strait meat mallard, Timber Rattler, and the Dead Meat- didn't buy one but i might- anyway, to me the strait meat mallard was easier to blow, but squeeked - timber rattler sounded really ducky - and dead meat had excellent feed chuckle - what do u guys like about these calls???

WELL...I personally like them all...lol
seriously..they all have different things to offer...however my new favorite is the Dead Meat Mallard ....double reed...
that's the only duck call I have on my lanyard right now...but my double reed Strait Meat Mallard and a single reed legend regularly make guest appearances.......my next duck call is going to be a wood Legend!

I have a legend DR, SMM SR, and a DMM DR, i love all of them, i was going to get a TR, but after getting the ones i already have the TR would be for show, A cause there no flooded timber in DE that i can hunt, and B cause the DMM hase the high ball of a SMM and the super quiet soft quacks of a SMM single, and the feeding chuckle on it is incredible, i really havent been able to put it down since i got it, and yet im not really a duck hunter, im a goose man myself, but if i had to pick a first call to buy the DMM is by far my easiest to blow and sounds the Duckiest lol good word duckiest, anyways, my SMM SR is very loud and has a sharp feeding chuckle, but my DMM is very raspy, i love it, my legend im still messing with trying to make it take less air, but i think im going to comvert it to a single reed to get it louder, debating on picking up a wooden legend, but im not sure, like i said im a goose guy, but i can blow a duck call alright,....anyways this is just my two cents, i would have to say pick which one you think sounds the best to you and/or which one is easiest to blow.....haha i said blow....... lemme know how it werks out.......

I've owned every Foiles Duck call at one time and like all of them, but for me hunting back beaver ponds to rice lakes to pool 9 on the Mississippi I almost exclusively use my acrylic timber rattler single reed. I also have a SMM for hail calling. I like the TR so much that my next purchase is one in wood thats double reed. My hunting partner strictly uses the Dead Meat and it sounds good, can't go wrong with any choice.

I have a double reed SMM and a double reed TR. I switched my SMM to a double a few weeks ago and like it alot. It is alot louder just with a single reed in it though. I blow both of them alot. Lately, I have mostly been using my timber rattler. Sometimes will pick up the SMM when the birds are along ways away and I need more volume. I guess if I had to pick one call, it would be the SMM cause its loud but it has a good low end also. Not much experience with the dead meat. My dad won a single reed DM and it squeks when you get loud on it. Prolly need to put a double reed set in it.
