well boys we did pretty good, got our limit of geese and 8 greenheads . . . 6 banded!!!!! sorry no pics my girlfriend had the camera at a strip club(if im lying im dying :lol: )

When you say a limit of geese what does that mean? How many people went with you and whats the limit? 6 BANDED!!!!! :shock: Holy Crap! Well, the day after x-mas last year me and 3 other guys cranked out limit of 8 outta one flock and 7 had leg iron. :D thats awesome though. good job!

AP zone in maryland is 2 geese per day unfortunately, we had three guys. so 6 geese, and 8 greenheads total. 6 of the greenheads were banded, it was sweet

What!!! :shock: :shock: :shock: 6 of the ducks were banded!?!? Thats incredible! Great job. I have yet to kill a banded duck but have 6 honker bands, all of which were killed last year except one this year in the early season.

6 bands....that IS incredible...a buddy of mine and myself got 3 banded ducks in one afternoon and I thought THAT was good....

we've got some catchin' up do do I guess....CONGRATS!!!

h2ofowler, if you have some catchin up to do with three then we have some big catchin up to do. cause we have zero. killer miller is approaching 100 duck kills on the year and no bands, myself about 30 on the year no bands, and iowamigr9tor with probably 50- 60 kills on the year and no duck band. im thoroughly dissappointed, but thats hunting. also we have not got a duck band in all the years of hunting. :D im about to start buying them off ebay....lol

Yes, my personal duck kill count this year is nearing 100 birds, probably in the 90's right now. I lost count after about 60! :lol: But to kill bands, you gotta be killing alot of mallards. I would guess that I have shot around 25-30 mallards this year. King, thats why my uncle has like 15 duck bands, he shoots alot of mallards out of his blind. Usually around 250-300 mallards seriously! They have killed 4 bands out of that blind this year: 2 banded mallards, a banded pinny and a banded honk. Thats why we need to keep grindin' the mallards in the fields, cause when we are killing mostly mallards, our chances of getting a band is way higher cause the dnr bands mostly mallards and hardly any other ducks, at least thats what it seems like.

I haven't got a duck band in about 5 years. I average 100 birds a season. This year isa good year and with 7 weeks left I am at 107. Might get another 10 - 30 in, but I doubt it. Goose season has my attention now.

So, in the last 500 ducks I have had zero bands.

h20fowler, where are you out of bud? Because if you're over 100 ducks on the year, seems as though you have been really laying the smack down. 8) I am now 20 and I have steadily been killing more ducks every year. I shot about 70 ducks and about 40 geese last year and am past that with 3 weeks of hunting left.

I have been on 26 hunts this year and have not missed limit yet. The group that I hunt with (2 - 4 guys) has only missed limit once, and that was by one bird. Had we waited out the rest of the day we could have filled it. But we were just ready to go.

I am in Kansas and there are not a lot of banded birds around. I got into the geese a couple years ago and ended up shooting 4 bands in 2 years. But been dry since that. I am on the very HIGH end of the spectrum. My buddy has been hunting for 10 years. In that time 1 goose band and 1 teal band. He has killed every bit as many as I have. I know a guy that after 20 years of hunting waterfowl got his first mallard band 2 years ago.

We need a local banding effort to help drive our numbers! :lol:
