***elry... HAH! I've hunted this farm for 24 years with my father(Greg Sr), Paul Bowers, and some others; total bands: 3 woodies banded 7 miles away, and one honker from I think the ungava area? Don't quite get it... we kill honkers real good all season, We are usually weekend warriors with the exceptional sick day or two. Limits are the norm. We have taken a banded deer; that was actually before Ihunted; any ideas?

Sorry, that is in fact a belgium made browning a5, the same gun my dad has used for thirty years. He says I'll get it one day, hope it never happens.

Nice pics. Yeah my dad received a 16 gauge (sweet 16) A-5 a little over 3 years ago when my grandfather pasted on. Apparently, when my dad was a kid he killed his first 2 turkeys with that gun while hunting with my grandpa. So it holds some sentimental value to my dad.

I believe their are a few later model A-5's that are chambered in 12 gauge 3". I have two Belgium Browning A-5's both original Sweet Sixteens) They don't leave the safe much anymore.

I have an original sweet 16. I mean original!!!!
Had a friend of the family who had purchased a sweet 16 in the fifties and left it in the original box covered in the brown paper from the factory. I used to drool over the gun when we would stop and visit. Couple of years ago while at his funeral the family stated I was in his will and that kinda made me feel funny until I learned he left the gun to me with a note asking me not to shoot it. Needless to say I will remain unfired as long as I own it.

I shoot a Belgium light 12 and 20. Not very often though. Shoot it every thanksgiving day though. My dad still shoots his A-5 that my mom gave him for a wedding present. Took him on a turkey hunt and a buddy of mine lined up a nice Tom for him. Does he show up with his mag 10 or his SBE.... NOPE Just the 2 3/4 A-5 ....

Are you sure those are not flambeau taco's? Don't fret over them. I still throw some old shells from the mid - late 80's on occasion myself.

Looks like a great day!

Dad's gun is 3" The only time it ever gave him problems was when steel shot became law. He didn't adjust the rings properly and the gun wouldn't spit shells. Once he figured it out, (knock on wood) no problems. I had a chance to purchase the same gun from his hunting partner a few years back, but had just bought my first house house. Man... the dumb stuff we do.
