I know nothing about how they sound and what call would be a good starter. Do they call as much as canadas? any basic info to get me started would be greatly appreciated, more advanced stuff wont hurt either. Thanks in advance!

I could go into great detail on how to hunt snow/blues but your best bet is to just save up some money and got with a good guide and a time or 2 and see what all goes into hunting snows. You will find that it takes a lot of money and time to hunt snows. The guys that do good on a daily basis send most of their time scouting for the next day. Scouting is the key to hunting snow geese. You have to be where they want or you will just spend the day watching them drop into the fields around you. If you want more info drop me a pm.

Snows are always making noise, and if you cannot use an electronic snow call.

Then you must use a mouth snow call. I have a 12 dollar HS snow call that works just fine, but am going to get an acrylic Sean Mann whiteout for the more advanced and truer sound.

I am not good on a snow call because I don't need to be, I don't ever see them in MN, but I am going back to ND, so it is time to improve and get ready to kill some.

Now listen to the acrylic whiteout soundfile on Sean Manns website, it is perfect. He also has a poly version that is nice and around $50

Canada!! You may find some in far north dakota but I doubt it. I don't think you are going to find to many snows in mid april in the states.

The best snow goose call I have used is the TUNDRA SAVER. It's loud and very easy to use, with great range of tones. Great call.
