Well it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be...seemed like the birds were kinda feeding all day. :? We did manage to get 18, 2 short of our limit. 13 greenheads and 5 suzies. Small groups were working well, but it was real windy and most of our birds were killed on the first rips. They were gettting out in a hurry after we popped out and started shooting. :x I guess I cant complain, just kinda thought we were gonna leave with 20 greenheads. :D

Here is a photo of the whole gang. Left to right: Al (kingkilla), Brandon, Jordan (jclasen0124), me and Derek (iowamigr8tor). Notice the drake missing his head on the right, Al got kinda rough when he was ringing its neck.

Here is one of Al and Jordan. Jordan (right) is holding one of the nice big greenheads and Al is holding a weird drake that him and Derek tag teamed on the last flock.

Here is a photo in comparison to a regular greenhead, the weird drake, and a hen. What do you guys think is the deal with the middle one? Derek shot one like that on Saturday too.

I'm just throwing this one up. This is Derek and I from Saturday with our limit of green. By the way, I completed a nice triple on the first flock! :D

Here is a picture of the other weird one that Derek shot on Saturday....outta the same flock that I killed 3 greenheads.

ouch that hurts... but if you wouldnt cripple em and not be afraid to pick up a live duck jclasen0124 i wouldnt have to rip off there head. but luke i shot 2 hens for you. yea thats right boys i shot 2 hens, cause everytime they would say get em i couldnt hear em cause it was so windy. so i was always late pulling up and the closest greenheads were already shot. so i shot the closest ducks and they happened to be hens.

I admit I shot one hen but that was because there were only 3 out front and there was the hen right above me so I popped it and then might have hepled you guys out on the last of the 3.

Yeah we dont know whats up with those drhens! We're thinkin theyre maybe cross-bred with a pintail or something cause they're skinny like pintails and have this weird grey under their wings like a pinny. But we dont know. :?

I think it looks like its got lots of extra hen genes .We shoot lots of interesting combos drakes with green yellow and often grey beaks some heads are nearly black lots have only got the slightest ammount of green. There specqulems are a varite of colours. The hens can vary from almost black to karke. They interbread with our native ducks and as a result the are not many pure native grey ducks left .

Good job fellas. This artic blast is killing me. I guess it's time to start looking for geese in the fields to whack between deer hunts.

Same her drakeslayer. Duck closed next Thursday I believe. There are quite a few geese that have moved into our area over the past week and they're gonna get it here pretty quick!

I've shot a drake or 2 like that. They are hermaphrodites, male and female at the same time. It's sorta rare but I belive they can breed.
