What load would you guys use for shooting very close range wood ducks? I'm talking really close here. We found a crick with woodies on it today. If they're there next fall a 10 yard shot would be farthest it gets.

2 3/4 6 shot?

Thanks.

if they are that close your load listed should work perfect

3 1/2" Dead Yote T's w/ Ext. PM..........Hit or miss

I'd throw 2 3/4 3's or 2's at'em.....less shot to rip them up with rather then a thick cloud of 6's or something.......

20 gauge. 2 3/4 inch. 7/8 oz. #6's. Cylinder/skeet tube.

Just curious, how do you figure the shot would be 10 yards or closer? What if they fly up or down the creek? Is the creek only 10 yards long and/or wide? Just sayin'.

use a slingshot

i've shot em with 2-3/4" 4's out of my 12 ga that close and blown through the entire bird and taken heads off so if you want a decent looking bird when your done i'd say 5 or 6 and a 20 ga. if ya got it.

Sling shot or a paddle!!!!

No seriously...#4 or #6 shot, and I don't think the 12 would be bad, but if you had a 20 guage, I would use it. Good luck man, them woodrows are fun to shoot!

It's pretty thick and there's one spot they dump throughh an opening in to.

ive shot a lot of wood ducks and teal with 2 3/4" 6's. i really like using 6's for pothole setups, jumping drainage ditches, etc. i also bring em along when we are field hunting. the 6's through a patternmaster will sure ruin a pigeon's day thats for sure!

Oh you no, the usually... Prolly what we would use on them anyday. Like Double T or like 3 1/2 BBB. You should no, its what we always use. Like Big Silver says what you use for geese you use for ducks, even if there 10 yards away!!
Old big silver!! he knows everything.
