I hate to admit it but a buddy of mine got a great deal on this stuff. I love to buy ammo. Seems you can never have enough.

So I bought 4 cases of the 3 1/2" winchester expert for 8 bucks a box. 2 shot, bb, and bbb.

I have never really had trouble with any shells I guess but just wondering since the other post about federals.

I have laughed a people buying that exspensive tungston bitsmouth what ever for like double. If you shoot them in the face it does not matter.

Thanks

nope not yet im gettin a different barrel for my remington 1100 and then adding a patternmaster then i might shoot at a plate a couple times just to see the carnage.

i dont really worry about patterns as long as the ducks and geese still fall. my buddies all shoot 3 1/2s 2 bb bbbs so pretty much anything we shoot is doa. and if its not it is shortly there after lol

I shoot the X-Pert Hi-Velocity loads exclusively. They pattern well out of my SBE II and hit hard. I shoot 3.5", 1 3/8 oz, #3 for ducks and 3.5", 1 3/8 oz, BB for geese. Every once in a while in the early season, I shoot #2 for geese and sometimes in the late season I use #2 for ducks.

I hve only ever had one problem....and that shel was dropped in the water.

One thing you do need to make sure of....you can get them wet, but do not submerge them for more than a second or two. There is no waterproof shot cup on the X-Perts....hence why they are so cheap!!!

My dad and I bought a case of 3 inch 2's and a case of 3's ande we shot all of those up last year and had a few left over. We didnt have any problems with them, but I heard they're not spherical so they dont pattern worth a crap. But I'll keep shooting them until they stop killing ducks and geese. I am going to pattern a bunch of different loads this year at different ranges with my Briley light modified and my PM I just bought, because I have alot of miscallaneous loads sitting around the house.

I think that these shells are the best for money. They perfored well out of every gun I shot them out of.

Killer Miller,

If you get the Magazine Wildfowl, earlier in the year they had an article about new technology in steel, and they are finding that non spherical shot, has more knock down power than spherical, one of the companies is now developing a high dollar load of non spherical steel. As far as patterning your gun, let me offer you a little advise that I witnessed first hand. A guy I hunt with used to shoot the he!! out of ducks and geese, he doubled a lot. At that point he had never patterned his gun, and he had an amazing shot to kill ratio. One day he decided to pattern his gun and check his point of aim, and was dissapointed in the results, and tried to figure out how to correct the problem, lost confidence in his gun, and started thinking to much with each shot, as a result he started missing a lot. Lost his instinct shooting, and thought to much. he misses more birds than anyone I know now.

So what I am trying to say is, If it ain't broke don't fix it. If you haven't patterned it, and you kill ducks and geese with a high success rate, it might be better to let it be and just keep killin

Good idea.

I bet last year me and my main hunting buddy went out and shot our guns 4 times total 2 each and had our limit of 2 birds each at leat 10 times. We laugh and wonder if its worth it and we may have more fun if we missed more often.

Thanks
