Recently tried a timber rattler and loved the double reed set-up. Right now i have an RNT shortbarrel. I do have problems with it stickin sometimes. Im wonderin for any input on your favorite dr. Also if it would need a louder complementary call. Thnx in advance

I have an Echo double reed. I can't remember what model it is but it was like $60 when i bought it, bang for the buck at the time. It's decent but it works for now. I have some problems with the sticking too but what i do is turn the call around and give a good blow through the insert. The spit build up comes out no problem that's what makes them stick. I try to do that when i put them away too.

I have a Dead Meat Mallard and love it. Good high end as well as a nasty low end.

Picking just one call as "the best" choice for a double reed set up is a hard choice to make. I have 4 great choices to choose from and here they are...
1)Cocobola/smoke TR -using a BGB reeds, great all around call

2)BGB acrylic smoke and double-great call if tend to spit a lot on your feeders

3)BGB death whistle(maple/smoke)-Hands down the best call on the market for the money($50)

4) Strait Timber-Very soft call and uses very little air

a wood tr in double along side a dmm in single would compliment each other very well. Its best to find two calls that you like for their own reasons and stick to them.

i would have to say either the Strait Timber or the Dead meat but an acrylic strait suzy double isnt too shabby either.
