I know there is alot more too it than just the camera, but you see some amazing pictures of ducks/geese on forums/magazines/websites with great quality.... with christmas rolling around I'm wondering if anyone knows or has any suggestions on some good wildlife or just plain good cameras that are available...thanks

Alot of the photography today is of coarse now digital. You can use a store bought camara with some good attachments and get decent photos. But try to stick with the higher end camaras like nikons, sony and better brands. Also check to see what attachments they offer for the camara before purchasing it. I use a sony digital with many different attachments and get great photos. But good camaras i would check Leica, Nikon, Pentax. Not sold in your average dept. store. I would reccomend a fast shutter speed since you take alot of flight photographs. High zoom capability and clarity since you can't get too close to them. Also a wide Lens for when in a refuge to get zoom with a wide pic to capture all the birds.

If you want a good high quality pic with that mag cover look you need to invest in a camera with a high meg and a shutter speed of 5 fps or better.
Canon makes a 20D and a 30D depends on how much you want to spend.
The only diff between 20 is its 5fps and the 30 is 8fps.

Kodak Easyshare Z760 from wal mart for about $200. It's 6.1 MP with a card to stick in the computer. Just watch the lighting and angles for shadows. Works for me and I don't know diddle about photoghraphy!

Got lucky on this one!

Duckman4ever, thats a really cool picture.

Twincreeks, I have a Nikon Coolpix 5600 and it takes great photos if you ask me. I got it for $250, but I'm sure you can pick it up for $200 now. It has tons of different settings. It is 5.1 megapixel. Here is a picture taken after an evening hunt a few weeks ago, it was pretty much pitch black. The flash on it is awesome!

Here is one I took during early duck, when geese weren't open. :x All I can say is they were lucky, because it woulda be curtains (shows over) for them!
