wasnt my idea just passed along from a friend who has been using that setup for 3 yrs now!! he has killed a ton of snows every year that way!! also he uses wooden dowels instead of coat hangers and an electronic call ,last year 286 birds in 4 hours with 6 guys by a refuge on public land

Sit downwind of those things a couple hundred and you'll do fine.

Another option that I have used and have had good success with is paper plates mixed in with the socks. We do this when we want to add to our spread and appear larger. Just make sure you run a wire stake through the front of it to hold it down (or throw some dirt on it).

Got about 300 of them made now, still sittin here making them, got 690 bags total, but we are thinking that at least 400-500 to be effective, yeah i was told that by someone else, like i said to them, we are just trying to get them to break the 60 yard mark, if they do that then BOOM you know the rest....

I have done the same thing. I used the small white bag with the dowel rods. what I did was at the top of the rod tied a knot with the side of the bag on to the rod and taped it. Then punched the end of the rod thru the bottom of the bag. By doing these 2 steps allowed the top appeared to have a head and neck and when placed in the ground just swung the bag into the wind to fill with air and spike it. worked great and used the same set up for a few years. from a distance you couldn't tell they were trash bags.

DropEM, 60 yards is a long way! Not that it cant be done, since I've took 2 big honkers in the last week or 2 were that far or further and they were stone cold dead. One happened to be my double-banded bird :D

What are you shooting for a gun, shells, and choke tube. Because I shoot a SBE out of a Patternmaster choke tube and 3 1/2 inch Fasteel or Winchester X-pert Hi-velocity 1550 fps in BB's and 1's. With that combo they can be killed at 60, but I wouldnt try it unless you have a tight shooting choke and big pellets. Just my opinion.

just getting ready to order my PM soon, im shooting a Charles Daly pump 12g, with Imp cyl, at snows, i would be shooting Kent Fasteel BB 3in, either that or im gonna pick up a box or two of Hevi Shot, missed my oportunity to go this weekend, but our Snow Season runs to march 31st, so theres plenty of time to get out after them after the regular season closes, i just meant break the 60yard and closer mark lol, im not gonna be out there injuring birds with no dog, im pretty sure im gonna get some FBs before i get out after them, and my boy has a few dozen snow shells, we are gonna use them up close to the blinds and then use the bags as a way to add #rs to the spread, its trial and error right now but when i get a chance to get out i will let everyone know how it works, honker season just came back in today so Snows are to the back of the line now, time to break out the SMH, and get on some Canadas lol, ill keep you all posted on them too.....thanks for all the good faith from everyone, thats the main reason what i posted the snow setup in the first place......

This is just a suggestion.....

What if you took the drawstring style bag, and ran the hanger through the part where the drawstring would be? Would that save alot of knot tying? I think if you did it that way, you'd really only have 2 knots.

Run the hanger through one side of the draw string and take the other end that is hanging loose and tie the two sides off to the hanger. You'd have way less hanger visible and flashing in the sun.

Just my $.02.

Hey Jeff, its hard to find Draw Strings in the 4gal size, plus your talking 5 dollars a box as opposed to .99 - 1.99$, that wouldnt fit the Budget Criteria LOL.....but its a great idea, prolly work real good for Swans...
