Take two calls. Here are the scenarios:

1. Ducks and geese over land?

2. Ducks and geese over water? (Flooded timber or open.)

in scenario 1 and 2 ill take a double reed timber rattler and a SMH. I would think this also would be the wisest choice.

Land (cornfield we'll say)- SMH and my double reed timber rattler. Reason for duck call selection- Normally the flappy decoys bring the ducks to you close enough that you don't need a loud call, you need a ducky call. And my double-reed TR is strait meat duck!!

Water (open)- SMH of course and double reed SMM. I would chose the SMM over my TR for more volume. Even though they are both double reeds, the SMM's insert hole is alot bigger therefore quite a bit louder.

DMM and SMH for both scenarios. This is my 1st season with the DMM and I'm finding it to be, as advertised, a very versatile call. I experimented between a single and double reed configuration, and I'll have to say, the double sounds a little "duckier". As for geese, this is also my 1st season with the SMH and I've been able to bring them in over land as well as water. You just can't go wrong with that call.

The big thing for me is that I have to keep things simple. If I have too many calls around my neck I can't make a decision quick enough. Same goes for shells; if I have too many options in front of me, I'm constantly changing the ammo in my gun.

For both senarios I would chose a SMH and a DMM. THe DMM is an awsome all around call. :D

Both scenarios I would go with SMH and DR DMM.
