Im sure that alot of guys wont agree but the factory chokes should fit all your waterfowling needs.

patternmaster choke for sure....get extended range in stainless steel...the cost is high but it will outlast any gun you put it in..incredible groups out of my SBE2

With shooting steel you will find that running a very constricted choke will defeat what you are looking for. Over the years of steel shot, most people have found that either modified or improved modified would pattern the fast moving steel better than a full or extra full choke.I myself run a sporting clays choke for all of my waterfowling, and it has worked great for me.

Factory chokes will work as will any other makers choke, but you will need to find the shell, choke combo that produces the pattern you are looking for.

IMO in alot of hunting situations tighter patterns are over rated.

patternmaster extended range is the way to go , i also shoot hevi steel 2s 4s and Bs and the pattern is 95% at 40yds with a super dense core and only a couple straglers i also shoot a extrema 2 buy one you wont regret it .

Save your $200 and listen to Jlogg.

Since you haven't identified a specific problem with your pattern, I'm guessing you're wanting to jump on the OMG I gotta have an extended and ported tube - Bet with hevisteel your IC would meet 99% of your shooting situations since you decoy 'em in close.

You do decoy 'em in close, dont ya?

Don't most folks buy a choke (whatever brand you care to spend the dough on) and then find a shell that works well with that particular choke? I guess I wouldn't decide on a choke that can accomodate a certain shell, but rather, find a shell that works with the choke you have or want to get.

keep this in mind...a choke shooting steel performs like 1 choke tighter shooting lead. example: ic with steel=lead with mod. so if your shooting ext. range/full chokes with steel its similar to shooting a turkey choke with lead. now anyone wanna tell me what a great idea it is to try to kill a pheasant at 30 yards with a turkey choke?

save your money and shoot your factory chokes and pattern your gun to different shell and shot combinations.

the patternmaster brings down roosters with 5's no problem at 40 yds, and dosent shoot em up to bad a 10 yds

Ha ha yea, I busted a pheasant at 10 yards with my Ext PM with a 3.5 #3 winchester supreme. It actually took me a while to find the bird under all the feathers I knocked out of it.

I agree with your statement. A factory modified choke will do a person just fine.
