I had recently purchased the RedHead floating goose decoys, only to find out the the paint they used did not stick to the decoy very well. Which goose decoys on the market are the best as far as durability & quality??

ghg's, final approach and bigfoot are what most of my buddies use. i hear the hardcores are nice as well.

im not a huge fan of the bigfoots i would prefer to use the GHG but the bigfoots are incredibly durable the can take a beating and still hold up quite well

Strictly based on durability nothing touches a Bigfoot...but there is always a price to pay for durability and that is how realistic the paint looks. Not that they look bad but they arent "custom" grade like some of the others.

As far as durability, you are going to be hard pressed to beat Big Foot. Now the downside, They only offer 3 poses. They tend to get the toy soldier look rather quickly.

I have a different opinion then Kelly. But that is what makes it an opinion. I say they are just as "Custom" as any of the other guys.

Custom to me means that it is made to order to my specifications. That's Custom. I can get a custom SMH by calling the shop and saying I want this color, and I want it tuned this way.

I can only think of two companies where I can call and say I want his decoy painted this way. And to put those in the like of Avery, FA, Bigfoot, Hardcore, or the others is not a fair comparison.

big foot is the best i think. one time a big foot blew out of our boat on the highway, and this car hit the decoy. the decoy got stuck under the car and the head and foot base broke away from the body of the decoy. and the decoy was all ok until someone ran over the foot base and snapped it in 2 pieces. but we foot base would still snap together. so in my mind there built really good.

yeah what kingkilla said, the only thing is they need to get on the realism like the other decoy makers out there.

I agree as far as durabilty, the Big Foots are the toughest i have seen, there are other decoys i like better but the question was what is the most durable decoy so i would have to say Big Foot

I have a bunch of the Herters millenium mallards. with that hard styreen shell these things are tough, however( and there always is ) the underside is just plain styrofoam. I guess the answer would be a combination between the millenium and a burlap. They look good too!

ive never had a problem with G&H. Is there a reason why no one has posted anything about them? Also they have great customer sevice and fast turn around time.

The bigfoots are the most durable, but I have had mixed emotions about the GHG. First off they are really realistic looking, but I have had issues with durability of the paint and with other parts. When I bought some the day I got them home and put on the heads one of the heads split all of the way up to the beakl. I would just get what fits your style or your needs.

BigFoot floaters are holding up awesome. They look just about real on the water too!!!! I don't have any fullbodies so I can't say. I have been hunting over GHG's and they are holding up really good. If BF would come out with more poses I'd prolly think about investing in them. But, they are doing the job for many, so I may just invest in some over the of season.

This happened to a few of our decoys as well. We called avery and they sent us new heads for free. In my opinion they are the best looking decoy right now but ours have visibilly worn over 1 year and a half. A little new flocking and paint and they will be fine. Only problem is avery won't come off any paint. It's ****ty that they won't sell touch up paint. Just my opinion.

I thought the post about the decoy flying down the highway was kind of funny to imagine. I bet the person behind you was freaked out. Sorry about the decoy though of course.
