never shot one of these and i know people who swear by them.
Are they really what they are made out to be?
Also how long do they take to get used to?
Should i wait until offseason and hit up the range for some practice with it?
I shoot a 3in gun what would be my best bet if they are really worth it?

Ya they are everything they say they are. Takes some getting used to because you dont have as big a pattern but when you hit they die.
Just get the 3" choke and start shootin.

Yes, Patternmasters are the real deal!! I have a standard one stuck in my SBE and love it. It strait smashes birds!!
As far as how long will it take to get used to it? It just depends on you shooting ability. I was on with it right away. One of my buddies bought one last year and he couldnt hit anything for a while.

Is there any other choke tube out there? Haha, just kidding. They are out of control. Awsome choke tube, great investment.

One of these days I am going to hook up with that young group from Iowa. My wife is from there (yes she is big).
So I may as well dive in and give a little crap to IM8. Did you finish that bird with call behind it? I kind of recognize that belled out call

I finish all my birds with that call, lol, I just can't remember what it is called. Oh well it will come to me one day . That bird just sucked it up, had its landing gear out and I canceled his clearance, haha. Lets just say it was lights out.
Hammer007911 you don't want to come to Iowa, the hunting SUCKS here. HAHA

killer miller and iowamigr8er have def. convinced me to get one. i have never seen birds killed from so far away in my life. killer miller dropped 2 geese dead at at least 65 yards. im getting one before next year for sure.

Can the one made for use with 3.5 inch shells be used with 3 inch as well or is it strictly for 3.5? Seems to me it could be use for both but is it as good with 3 inch?

Oh yeah, In fact most of the ducks that I have shot were taken with 3 inchers. The goose in the above pic was result of a 3 1/2 in Kentfasteel 1 shotshell. But the performance is incredible either way. The only difference is that the extended tube allows more room for the larger wad of a 3 1/2 shell.

Sorry to say guys but theres no better choke than the patternmaster. I have one for my remington 870 and now one for my benelli. I hunted with my remington with 3" and i have the extended and i was crushing things left and right and NO CRIPPLES. Now with my benelli i shot a mallard at about 65 yards pass shooting with 3 1/2 2's and stoned him. Very deadly at close range and u will almost always kill them. very few cripples. I shot 1 teal at a great distance, i didnt blow him up but he didnt move on the water. Get one its prolly the best upgrade other than a foiles call. :D :D :D

mnbenellihunter, Im gonna take a wild guess...the 3 that have the bloody heads? The far right bird, 3rd to the right, and 4th to the left? I have yet to jelly head a goose real good except disbatching a cripple, but I have almost torn a few mallards heads off, literally! One susie really got it bad.
