I used mine 4 days straight at the club, probably blew it more in 4 days than I would in a month and never had a stick or freeze.

Try blowing it upside down so the toneboard and reeds are up when you blow. This keeps the spit out of the reeds. Also clear the call by blowing backwards through it after a series. Set it up on your lanyard so the barrel points down when not being used to "drain" the call. It's all about moisture and spit. Thicker reeds can help but make calls much harder to blow.

For some guys who spit alot when they call there isnt a cut and dry solution, you just have to work around it or learn to blow differently. I used to have the same problems and then learned a different way to control my air and have never had a call stick since.

Thanks

Instead of calling open mouthed I call with my teeth clenched or gritted. Keeps the drool out of my call and I can really control the air better. Since I started doing it I can pull really nice little squeals and very quiet stuff out of about any call with little effort.

I dont knwo if it's a "new" way of calling, just something I started doing one day and it worked.

HUH imma have to try that, i bought my DMM off a guy who had the same problem, what i have noticed is you can blow the thing for an hour with no problems, but once you stop the reeds kinda stick together, and it takes a short swift blow to get it going again, but to me i just think it gives the call a lot of Rasp, but once it gets going again, its rediculous...still may favorite duck call, just traded my SMM for a SMH cause it was collection dust, and it was new lol, damn dead meat, makes me wanna trade the rest of my duck calls cause i know they arent gonna get used lol...

had the same problem with my TR/DR added an extra dimple on the reed 3/8" back from the front of the top reed problem all gone. worked for me and didnt change the sound so its up to your discretion on this one. PS my TR/DR only had one dimple so i added the second.
