my dad paid 600 buckd for a new super X2 a few years ago, he found them when they were on sale. I posted this question on another forum and a reply i got was id be wary to buy a gun from a company thats out of bussiness. Is this true?

They are not out of business.....they simply discontinued a few of their models that were not selling well anymore. Winchester is very much alive and well....ammo and gun production/sales.

Everyone through a big tizzy when they announced that they were discontiuing a few models and all of a sudden now Winchester is going out of business......some people blow things a little out of proportion!!!! :x

I've have been Nickel plating rifle and pistol shells 12 hours everyday missing some of the best hunting that i have seen in years putting out more pounds than any other company would be capable of. Out of business??? Don't make me laugh!!! The most popular and powerful companies are the ones that are around forever!!!

SX3 is a great piece of work, fantastic gun. The X2 is also a great gun but the X3 fits me a little better. Both are a no brainer and you cant buy a better gun.

Winchester is FAR from out of business. You know who owns 'em right?

The SX3 (6.75lbs) is one full pound lighter than the SX2 (7.75lbs) making it to be about the lightest semi-auto on the market; even lighter than the Benelli SBE II (7.2lbs.).

Kelly's right. Winchester is not out of business. They slowed production for a bit because they moved the manufacture plant to Japan.
