SMH missing notes

No matter how tuned, my smh is not transitioning properly between octaves and Im constantly scratching notes in the field.. Tuned/blew a new one last weekend and it performed beautifully.. Reed recently replaced- is it guts, O-rings, or both? dont want to send to shop if not necessary as we're in mid season. Also, have there been any changes to the design of smh within the last 3-5 years?

Is the tip of the reed clearing the tone channel?Maybe a over shaved reed.

Could be worn in guts ar a splitting reed. You need to retune as the guts become worn. Put some guts in it, check the O-rings. No the design has not changed since #0001
