Rocked this guy at 8:05 this morning. 24 pounds, 9" beard and 1 1/8" spurs. It's the hardest I've ever had to work for one. I had to use the canoe to get across the high creek with dead fall in the way of the truck. I had to stalk him for two hours because he had three hens following him as he strutted and gobbled across a cornfield. After enough flanking around a treeline, I managed to get in front of him and they all walked right to me. No calling or decoys used; not exactly the quintessential turkey hunt.
I'm officially done. That's six for the year.
