Looking for some help.
Recently acquired 2 dozen sleeper shells and am putting together another dozen sleeper full bodies.
In a spread with 10 dozen other full bodies where would one put the sleepers? We typically run a random set with no real pattern (U, A, J, or whatever the letter). With a couple 3 or 4 feeder lines walking into it.
Do I put the sleepers where I want the geese land. Upwind of that, downwind?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

H2o, my group usually puts my dozen GHG shells (some with sleeper heads) right around the blinds. We usually run a loose U pattern with the good decoys, full body Pro-grade GHG full bodies, on the legs of the U with our fillers (G+H shells, and outlaw silo's) in and around the blinds. I normally put the GHG shells with sleeper heads on them right in front of our layout blinds.
But I have noticed that alot of people put the sleepers on one side of the spread or the other, but thats not how I do it. Not saying Im right or wrong.
Hey h20, kill any more honks with the 28 gauge?

Thanks for the tips. That is what I was thinking. The sleepers are a new concept for me.
Won't get the 28 guage out again for a while. Got to concentrate on the .410 now. Hope to get out tomorrow evening for a bit with my son and a buddy. Otherwise it won't be until the 26th. Well, for geese anyway. I am going on duck hunts the 24th and 25th.

Just try to keep your sleepers to the inside of the spread. No matter what you use. Try to make them look content.

the way i look at it is, find some pics of a flock and look where the sleepers are...usually inside the spread....but theres exceptions to every rule....how come no Decoy company makes a one legged sleep, Hummm im thinking new design....!!!!!!!!!

we usually put them pretty close to the kill hole. In the past week we have had a ton of geese land literelly on top of the sleeper shells. We limited out the other day by 8:30 and couldnt get out of the pit because the geese were walking around the decoys while others, again landed on the sleeper shells
