I've never owned a layout blind and I'm looking into buying one...
Is the Power Hunter a good one even though its the cheapest that I can find?
Also what do you all recommend Field Khaki or Camo?
I can't predict the pros and cons about field khaki or camo, I know someone on here has experience with this...lemme know, thanks

The power hunter is deadly if its dug in, watch the Runnin Traffic Video, you will see the in action, they also have the widest field of View, as far as color, i would go Khaki cause it will look better mudded in my opinion, its a good all around color, if your gonna hunt mostly cut corn, the i would advice a camo preferably max4....but thats just me...if you a litte clostorphobic then the power hunter fits kinda tight with its lack of a large frame. the finisher is a freakin coffin, but it does stick out a little higher than i like it to, the new Ground Force is AWESOME, it folds up into a backpack, and it breaks down literally in seconds......and its only 189+tax if you live in one of those states...thats in khaki...thats just my $.02, try it out if you dont like it im sure someone on here would buy it from you...

everone here has there own preferances in blinds id go with camo as for blinds go to your sporting goods store and get in some to see how each blind feels and go from there, myself i have an avery finisher and a wildfowler, i use the wildfowler more because its more comfortable and sets up faster

A great blind that has more room than a power hunter is the Final Approach X-lander. My opinion in color is Mossy Oak shadow grass it seems to blend in the best where ever you are hunting. Hope the advice helps

i have had a max 4 finisher and sub and i like my sub a lot better. its all around good blind and it has a lower profile then the finisher. the finisher folder up into a smaller carry but it took me longer to put it together then the sub. my finisher head rest always poped out too. also make sure to mud the blind. i never mudded my finisher but i have my sub and theres a deffinate difference.

Smoke, my finisher's head rest pops out all the time too. Mine is in its 3rd, maybe 4th year of hard hunting and its about done for. Plus it doesnt have a cup holder like the new ones do. Damn it!

SUB- I looked at one of them closely a few nights ago when I was picking up my buck rack from my buddy who works at the store (FYI guys, my deer scored right at 120 net, so like 112 or 114 gross) and I like the blind alot. I'm thinking about having one of them by next fall. How does the SUB fold up? I couldnt figure out how? I DO NOT have a pickup, ford explorer. Would it fit in there? Thanks

Thank you all for the input on this...
I hunt mostly pond/pothole areas and cut corn/winter wheat fields...
I'm really stuck between Khaki and Shadowgrass, I'm worried that hunting on the sides of ponds in the mud the Shadowgrass would stick out and in the corn fields the khaki would stick out...

My vote is for the sub, Mine is Max-4, after mudding it up, and throwing some corn stalks on it it flat dissapears in cut cornfields. It is also very durable, and comfortable. Packs in and out pretty easy, and has plenty of room for you, and your gear. I would recommend it to anyone.

i recently bought FA's X'landr and love it. It's warm, waterproof and folds up nice. It's in shadowgrass and i think it blends in pretty good with anything. I guess its all about how much u wanna cover it too. Also it has a lot of storage space under the back rest. All you have to do is take it to your spot unfold it, put 2 rods in the doors and your set. Padded back straps make it nice for luggin around too!

I've got a finisher but it's in it's last season. The only problem I've had is the blind is uncomfortable to me. It's durable though. Got run over by the truck and did very little damage. I would definitely recommend getting your blind in camo. One of my buddies has a field khaki blind and it sticks out like a sore thumb, anywhere. We've tried mudding it but that color just doesn't match well to anything.
