Upgrading Pond

There is a pond behind my house that is roughly 30yd.x60yd. in size. Last year i ahd a pair of mallards that wintered there and this year i have 3 pairs. I have done some work to it but now i Really want to clean it up and try to get it filled with ducks for the winter. I won't be hunting them just making it a nice safe haven for them to spend nights and mornings. Now it only fills up in the winter but stays swampy all summer. After i clear out the thorns and vines around it. What kind of bushes, plants, grass etc. can i plant to make it more attracting. I usually thrown about 5 pounds of corn there just so they are there and can take some nice pics and watch them and listen, you know the deal. Anyway, any ideas would be great. I will post some pics of it and maybe that night help. Beyond the bushes you see in the pics, there is about 10-20 yards of flat ground that used to be just grass. now its all big thorn bushes. Plus i want to clean it up back there cause i found 2 whole deer carcasses back there poached, heads cut off and left to rot. I don't want these guys to use it for a dumping ground for their illegal activities. Hopefully if i get a pile of ducks they leave them alone. thaks again guys.
