How many inches of snow on the ground will it take to drive geese off?

I've shot geese in some deeeep snow, but we had a pond with the only open water in the county. Don't know what is too deep, but when it starts to melt and they come back I have been in on some great hunts.

heres a scenario for you...you may have heard about the blizzard colorado got drilled with. I was out on christmas eve with a foot snow onthe ground and drifts everywhere. It was a pain in the ass setting up decoys and it was really cold but we still shot a limit by 10 and the birds didnt get up till 830. just an example for ya

Thats a hard call to make I think as long as there is open water they'll stick around at least in some areas. Look at Rochester Mn for example. they have geese year round
