Anyone out there used/using the Avery Finisher Dog Blind? Is it "free-standing", or do you have to use stakes?
FA mutt hutt ,the only way to go no stakes only a couple rods, holds well in windy conditions

The dog finisher needs to be staked or it will move around with the dog getting in and out of it. You should also check out the Avery Ground Force Dog Blind. No stakes and no rods to lose.

You should also check out the Avery Ground Force Dog Blind.
I checked it out and the Ground Force is actually by Greenhead Gear. It looks pretty solid. I guess it's now between the Mutt Hut and the Ground Force.
ive used the mutt hutt for over 3 years and i leave the rods in the base and just take out the upper rod and toss it in my blind for transport, works great
I bought a dog blind this year and went with the Ground Force over the mutt hut because its lower profile. I cannot think of anything bad to say about the GF. It worked great this season, no stakes, and at only 18in high it blends good to the surroundings.
Go with the Ground Force!

I've been running a Mutt Hutt all year and I love it...so does the pooch!!! Plenty of room for a 100 lb lab. Like HRK, I leave the rods in the base, once assembled. Unlike HRK, I don't pull the top rod, I release the end tabs, bunch the fabirc and collapse the blind with top rod still in it. Blind fold completely flat and stores easily in the back of the truck or in the trailer. You do have "tent stakes" to use to stake the blind down to the ground. I use them most of the time as my lab is tall and jacks up the blind everytime he goes in and out of it. but, FA was thinking when they provided a storage pouch, sewn right into the side of the blind (with velcro closure), for the tent stakes.
All in all.....both myself and the dog like this dog blind better than any other blind we have tried and the only one we haven't tried is the GHG Groundforce.....

I use the Avery Finisher dog blind. From what I've seen it does sit higher, but I need it too. I have a 100 lb lab and she struggles to get inside. I don't know how big dogs fit into smaller blinds unless they crawl in and stay laid down the whole time. My dog isn't perfect. She likes to sit up until the birds come and I tell her to lay down. The finisher has small stakes(about 6 inches) that easily push into the ground. It is easy to camo up and has never flared geese. Just my opinion.

I've got a Mutt Hutt too and like Mark says, it's great. Plenty of room for the dog, easy to set up and store.
