Well since they weren't really going to the fields lately Tyler (killer miller), Derek (iowamigr8tor), Al (kingkilla), and I decided to go after them on the water instead. We had pretty much the whole place to ourselves other than one group and the 3-4,000 geese and atleast that many ducks who were all roosting here. Put out 2 lookers, 1 doz shells (10 sleepers), 6 hunter series actives, and 1 doz progrades (1/2 actives and 1/2 feeders) on the mud flat and we hid in our finishers in the grass. 4 of us ended up killing 6 honkers (too bad duck season is over!) Here's a few pictures....

Barry, we are thinking about kicking Al out of the "Iowa Killin Crew" because if it wasnt for him, this thread would say "Iowa late season honker LIMIT!" We all got our 3 except for Al. Me and iawaterfowler made clean doubles! 8)

Barry, me and Al put the sneaks on some and 3 flew over. When I said take em, i was on the left and he was on the right. I shot the left bird, then the middle bird and apparently he was dialing in on both of them, only to see them fold up before he could pull the trigger on them. THen he tried shooting 'his bird' (the bird on the right, well....the only one left  ) and it was too far by then.

I have switched from the fields to the water. I really don't like to do that but this weather is a killer. I don't think we will see many more come down this late in the season. We have taken 16 geese in a weeks time with 1 or 2 guys. Birds are unpredictable right now and are set in their ways for now. Stick with what works.
