I'm thinking on getting a pattern master tube for next season and I see they different type. Which one is the best? I currently only duck hunt and use 3" shells mostly over decoys.

I have two patternmaster chokes and they are just the plain patternmaster NOT THE EXTENDED RANGE. I had to get this one because I mainly shoot 3 inch shells a lot too. This is the best choke ever.

how do you guys feel about Kicks Chock tubes with 3 1/2 inch 2 for ducks? I'm thinking about getting the High Flyer in full, I've always shot full how do you feel about that too?
well shootin steel with a full it (F's ) up the pattern ,i shoot briley chokes and with a imp mod choke with #2s at 30 yds i have about 98 percent of my shot in a 30" circle. the rule of thumb, imp cyl is mod with steel, light mod with steel is a light full and mod is full with steel. when you go to a quote full choke steel doesnt compress like lead so in effect when you try to compress steel it deforms and you get fliers and a distorted pattern. unless kicks is meaning there full choke is really a mod that shoots full. hope this helps

First of all, what do you mean you have the standard? Beause there is 3 different kinds:
1)Over-decoy tube .....recommended for 30 yards and closer shots and barely sticks outside of barrel
2) Standard....recommended for 45 yards and closer, sticks outside barrel about 1 inch
3) Extended...made to shoot 3 1/2 inch, but shoots all well. Made to shoot the longer wads. Sticks about 2 inches outside barrel
I shot a Briley Light Modified all season last year and liked it alot. But I get more range out of my standard Patternmaster I got last spring. It basically doesn't leave my barrel. Doubled on geese today and Thursday with it in my SBE and 3 1/2 inch BB's. 8)

I have the Extended range and shoot mostly 3" and 3 1/2" shells with AWSOME results. You have to realize with the PatternMaster choke there isn't constriction, it is a wad ripping choke. There are visible posts in the tube that grab onto the wad and rip it away, allowing the gases to vent behind the wad which prevents the wad from being shot through the pattern producing a "Blown" Pattern.
The Patternmaster produces a dense undisturbed pattern, which is LEATHAL! Like Miller, mine doesnt leave my SBE2.

I shoot a super black eagle primarily at ducks with 3.5" number 2's and I got the extended patternmaster this season. The first duck that I shot with it my mouth droped open in amazment. this choke tube is great and you wouldnt regret geting one

I'm a believer in the High Flyers. And the Full, Mod or X-Full is with Steel shot. Kicks makes those chokes just for shooting steel. I shoot a Mod over decoys, I tried a tighter constriction but I was just blowin em up or missing a really close duck bustin a** across the spread. I have buddies who shoot the Patternmaster extendeds and they don't put them in until the second half of the season because they are just too tight.

I use all kicks high flyer chokes. In my opinion there isnt a better choke made. I shoot 3.5in 2 shot at ducks with a modified choke. And i shoot a X-full with 3.5in BB at geese.

I put much emphasis on there being little to no constriction in the Patternmaster Choke tube. The reason it is blowing your ducks up is because the pattern is so dense and you are delivering the entire payload of the round on your target. I know that with Miller and I's Patternmasters the ducks and geese have no chance at all, lol. We have killed out at some distances this year that have left others in aww. I know that I crunched a duck at 50+ yds in a corn field this year. Check out my Avatar, that goose took a Kent Fasteel 3in 1 to the head, hahah.
Check the PM website at http://www.patternmasterstore.com/about.htm for further explanation of how the choke tube works.

i got the ext in my superx2 and its awesome. i used it this year on a teal hunt just for the heck of it and i shot a teal with 3inch 4s expert hi velocity and i brought a new meanin to the term mangled duck. lol wasnt much left of the bird besides the mess of feathers in the water.

I have the "Short Range, Over Decoys" for my Beretta Extrema 2. I shoot 3" 4s, 2s and BBs. I think the tube is awesome but I usually only shoot birds that are decoying in.

A really good friend of mine and Pro-Staffer for GK Calls has a Wad Wizard choke tube in his 12 gauge. He absolutly swears by it. He has the Wad Wizard Supreme and he hunts/Guides Turkey hunts in the spring with it and he Guides duck and goose hunts in the fall. He said to me that he has had this choke in his gun for 3 years and he has never switch it out because he likes it that much. Just thought that you might be interested in reading this. :)
