A thinner type of a twisted line, waxed, and ace bungee strap weights. No bag tangles or decoy/anchor knocking in bags.

i use a little nylon line that is soaked in like tar or something like that it holds knots really well and it doesn't float

i use the greenhead gear quick fix decoy cord, and i use the 8 oz. ace anchors. they are the best. i wont go back to cheap anchors after useing the ace anchors.

Tanglefree and Ace Anchors....haven't found a better combination for ALL weather conditions yet!!!!
Just make sure is the "real" Tanglefree...there are a lot of copy cat Tanglefrees out there.

I use #9 crab line, and dye it green. A # o3 swivle on the decoy end ,and a slipknot on the anchour end. that way I can put my deks where I want them. I hunt where there is a lot of tide so I run a sash weight then at least 50ft to the first dek . then 200ft to the last dek and 50ft to the sash weight. that puts my deks about 6.5 to 7.5 feet apart.
I'm currently using 9/64" solid braid line from Decoy Riggers of IN with 8oz mushroom weights on my Herters 72's.. I love this line and after using regular decoy, Tanglefree and most others I've found this stuff to be the best.. Tangle free, no float, WILL NOT break, knots won't come undone etc.. With that said, when I quit running these Herters I'm going to rig everything with the Texas Rig.. I've hunted with a few guys that rig their dekes Texas style and it is one sweet set up..
This link is the best way to explain it and you can see for yourself..

GHG tangle free line and 4 oz. Ace Anchors do just fine on duck decoys. Gotta go with the 8 oz. Ace's if you're gonna hold mag. ducks or geese.
Al, we have 4 oz. Ace anchors, not 8 oz.

I was going with neck straps, and the tangle free system. Last year I helped a friend pick his decoys up and he had some Ace decoy weights. Pick up time was faster and so was sit out time. After that I was hooked.
I bought 9 dozen new duck decoys this year and put Ace on Half, and Avery on the other. I used the standard no rot decoy braided line.
Personally, I prefer the ACE over the Avery. The bungee (technical term I know :D ) Is stronger on the Ace. It allows the weight to stay tighter and they do not come off when thrown or bounced around. The Avery is a lighter bungee and while it works, I just don't care for it as much.
Also, when rigging them up I really liked the D ring on the Ace versus the pinhole in the Avery. It was more time consuming on the Avery.
Both of them do their job, and at 4 ounces they hold the OS Avery's and FA Top guns nicely in a pond - marsh situation. I have not used them on a current or sand bottom yet.
We have the 8 ounce Ace on some OS goose floaters and used Tangle free line. We found the weight can be an issue with the tangle free in cold situations. We have known for yeas that tangle free loses it's "elasticity" when it gets cold. But with 8 ounces it was breaking the line when being pulled on. Not an every time occurrence. But it happened.
So my vote would be ACE, followed by Avery, then the original Tangle free set-up, then the neck straps.
