i ran my remington last year and i found i liked the kent shells whether they were 3 inch bbs-2s or 3 1/2 bbbs-2s it just shot kent shells like a champ so thats all ill be shooting this year but the remington shells also shot very well out of it

Shells are strictly a matter of personal prefrance. For the money it is hard to beat Kent shells.

I do not have a magnum but i do have an 870 and last year I shot 3" kent 2 shot and they did awsome. they never jammed once and the pattern was good and consistant. I recently paterned 3" Fiocchi 2s and found that they pattern and cycle really good threw my 870. If i were you i would by a box of fiocchi and see how they pattern

Also shoot Kent 3in. 1 1/4 #3 out of my 870 magnum. Recently patterned it with Dryloks and was impressed to say the least.

I shoot a 870 super mag with a long range pattern master. I just patterned a number of common lower end shells in the 3" #2 1 1/4oz. Believe or not I had the best patterns (least amount of holes and most pellets in a 30" circle) with the Remington shells, then the Kents, then the Winchester Hi-Vi.

i would not buy fiocchi again to save my life a bought a couple boxes for wood duck and teal season last year and shot them in my 870 i think i got five or six out of each box to go off and that was it and thats the only shell i have had that problem with

Ive used an 870 for over 15 years, occasionally switching to my 11-87 and ive shot numerous brands out of it and i never had a problem with any of them that i can think of. All brands should work fine in your 870. The main thing is shoot some paper and see what kind of patterns your throwin out. I always had good luck with my 870 with shooting federals, they usually threw a good pattern.

I agree about the Fiochi. I havent shot any of there waterfowl loads, but I shot a few of there target loads for trap. They were junk. Id never buy another box, not matter what the load was.
Like what was just said, you shouldnt have any problem with a 870 jamming, but Ive actually seen one jam in my life. Newer gun on a snow goose hunt. He was shooting the cheap Winchesters thru it, and every second shell got hung up. But then he switched to his 1100 and didnt have a problem.
Lifes to short to shoot cheap shells. The shoot mainly Kent. There a high end shell and a resonable price. I also shoot Black Cloud and really really like it. I also like the Win Dry-Locs, just not the price. Just depends on the budget and how many boxes or even cases of Kent I have left over form spring snows. Neither have ever given me a problem in both my Extrema and Gold Hunter. Only time I ever had a jam was because of the gun freezing, not the shells or guns fault but mine.
You couldnt pay me to shoot the Remington Sportmans, Winchester Experts or even the Standard Federals. Theres a reason they cost what they do. You pay for what you get. I spend to mutch time, effort and money on the other aspects of the hunt to try to cut corners and ruin it with junk shells.
Plus you owe it to the dog to shoot good shells;)
