o last season was a pretty good season I dont have a kill count or anything. Several hundred just not exactly sure throughout our group. We had good numbers on bands as well. 2 snow geese(1 50$ reward), 1 pigeon, 1 mallard, and about 13 or so honker bands. Alot of good times were had.

that explains the spelling j/k :D most states have laws about kids having to be in school a certain number of days, but maybe missouri isn't one of those states...idk
Nathan Bender
08-07-2009, 01:37 PM
Yeah that was the same thing i was thinkin. You can ony miss 10 days and then from then out your truent...but it may be diff. in Missouri.

well certain adults too, if they knowingly and willingly allow him to miss as mutch school as he claims he does
Hunter Lewis
08-09-2009, 05:44 PM
Thats why you get another accuse for being gone. Like *cough* sickness...lol whats wrong with missin some school for huntin? absolutely nothing. As long as you can still pull the grades nothins wrong with it?. Some schools in other states actually give days off for people to go hunting in certain seasons. So Missouri isnt all that "different".
BlackMouth

Well according to him its not a little, read his whole thread before you start. He says he missed school everyday of the entire season. I dont care who you are thats to mutch.
1 or 2 days here and there no biggy, heck even a week if you stay caught up, but to say he misses almost everyday if not every day of school during the entire waterfowl season, and you to think thats ok is just wrong
Hunter Lewis
08-09-2009, 07:12 PM
Ok, I didnt see the part where he missed everyday?? That is alot. Too much for me to miss I know that much. I understand what your saying now. I'm not trying to cause an argument or spam up this thread. I think its great young hunters are involved so much with the sport and support it anyway possible. Thats why I congratulated him in the first place on such a successful year!Whatever he did as far as school is up to him...now ill get off my highchair.

ha, dont worry about it.
i thought the same way back when i was in school. all i wanted to do is hunt and fish. problem is, you dont realize how important school is to you get older and/or have kids of your own. i wish i would of spent more time on my homework and such back then. i guess thats part of being a parent, is making sure they do make the right decision even thou it might not seam like the right one to them at the time.

heck in PA we get the first day of deer season off! (rifle season)
BlackMouth
08-09-2009, 07:47 PM
the kids get opening day of rifle seaon off up here too. thats no big deal. having off of school and missing school is two completely different stories. Especially if you claim to miss all fall.
You kids will realize when you get older how important school really is. Right now it might be on the bottom of your prioritys, but youll figure it out later in life.

i just graduated, i'm off to college now. i plan on hunting BEFORE my classes :D
BlackMouth

good man! thats the idea. youll get plenty of time to hunt in college, usually during the week. just try to pick late morning classes.;)
plus the blind makes a excellent place to read and study, as long as the birds arent flying, just get some of the bigger ziplock bags to keep them in:p

i'm going to Slippery Rock University, as of right now i'm majoring in business undeclared, i think being involved with hunting and hunting products would be great, such as supervising sales of hunting products and equipment etc.!

thats not the way you made it sound before. what does your principal have anything to do with it if its after school.
your storys changed again young one.
just shoot strait, keep the BS to a min and its all cool. Dont think you have to impress anyone on here.

keep it humble man....all these guys are accomplished hunters in their own mind be it as professionals or guys like me...just have fun....I don't shoot hundreds of birds but would rather be on the lake that sitting at home any day...don't set yourself for ridicule by starting threads so you can "toot your own horn"...if you feel like your a great hunter then act like it...learn from the guys that have been in the field twice as long as you have been on earth and share your own experiences....
....jj i'll hunt with you man...im in transfer, pa...gimme a shout

Im in college too... I have already talked to you about hunting together and all ... I'm going for business as well ... Majoring in supply chain management. At University of Phoenix ... Im excited for hunting season cuz all my classes are online and I can do them at any part of the day, as long as they are done by midnight. Being self-employed and an online student = tons of hunting! Cant wait ... My sister went to slippery rock and she said its about an hour from here so ... We will have to make arrangements to get together.
