is it worth the cost. i am using it and have had good results but wonder if there is something close that is alittle less $$. mostly shooting decoying birds. like to know brand, shot size and range. thank for in put
i use 3" #2 hevi shot and frederal ultra shock BB's for ganders. for close in ducks i use remington sportsman high speed steel #2. and had great results with all 3. ive had better luck with hevi shot for ganders up to 30 yds , with the remington for a cheaper shell, ive crumbled quackers at 30 yds plus.

Not worth it the day you buy it it but the first goose you kill stone dead at 60 yards will be worth it.
My buddy watched me drop one way out there and ran and bought one box of it and was whining like a bitch in heat until he dropped his first double at 60-70 yards right over head.
He ran out and bought 20 boxes that day like 480 bucks

around here Environ Hevi is still $21-$22 at Bass Pro while Fed Untrashok is $29, Winchester extended range is $29 and Rmingotn wingmaster is $29.
I use Hevi 3.5 inch 4's and 6's and Sat I made to very long 3 shots killing cripples in the air stone dead that amazed my buddies.

I don't use Hevi Shot but one of my buddies does. He actually bought a box or two of all the different kinds of high density shells on the market. I was just wondering what chokes you guy use if you use factory chokes. Because he wasn't very happy with most of the shells and we put a target up at 30 yards. The patterns were terrible. Not as many pellets hit the target as my regular Winchester Supremes. And his pattern seemed to be low every time. But when he connects on shots the birds do drop dead. We had a flock of geese come in the lake the other morning and knocked them all down but one. That last one looked like it was going to get away and he stepped up and put it down way out of my shooting range.

It's worth it if you can afford it, I can't most of the time, but when i do shoot it ,I shoot 2 or 4 shot size --3 and half inch with a 675 turkey choke, i know that is tight ,but if you put it on them , you can go pick them up... Nice Avatar Hammer...
