When you comein to IL to hunt and where are you hunting?? Last I knew they were killing the hell out of Dark geese up by Bradewood but then my dad told me last night a friend of his said they are like we are now and not seeing any birds. I live in central IL and we have pretty much no gesse other than the locals and a TON of specks. But thats all we got. If you kill a goose up by Canton area where it should be on fire right now you are lucky.

You need to be a little more specific. I know you don't want to divuldge the location of an invitaional "honey hole", but at least give up the county.
First of all, duck season is over up here. I've been hunting southern Cook, northern Will and northern Kankakee Counties, and the Canadas are plentiful up here. I'll see at least a couple of thousand every morning that I'm out. If you're going to be hunting private property (cornfield near water, etc.) you should do pretty well.
As for Snows, I haven't seen any.
Good luck.

Honkerhunter104:
We, I mean you, need some real winter weather to push them down. As you know, it's been unseasonably warm for the last couple of weeks. Although we have birds up here, they've been here for a while so they have their PHDs.

ya the problem down here is they are sittin on ponds and have no reason to move. all the ponds need to freeze and the birds will come back to the lake and have to fly out to eat. so it sounds your hunting locals then too

not a whole lot of action down here either. most the birds are hangin out in the refuges or flyin out at night.
