as some of you know i am currently serveing in afganistan i operation OEF. well im from Minnesota and this weekend was the Game Fair. this will be the first year i have missed the game fair in a few years. so i conviced my mother to take my dog "Decoy" and let him run the games and try to find me some reading matrieal and some vids when i found out the Jeff foiles was going to be there i had a simple request to my mom go meet the man i call one of my heros and buy a call and ask him to sign it. i was a little nervous bc i have never met him before i didnt know what kind of person he was off the tv and too many time b4 i have been disapointed to find out the people i look up to and called heros are actully kinda assholes with no time for the little people after talking to my mom on the phone and hear how great of a person Mr. Foiles was and is and all the nice things he had to say and things he did for me.i am proud to call the man my hero. ther is very little enjoyment over here expescaily with the elections comeing up things are getting extremly violent and i have seen some really bad thing in the past week but when i got the phone call and as my mother decribed to me the events that happend with Mr. Foiles i was the happyest i have been in months i walked around with a smile on all day and still cant stop talking about it. the little acts of kindness he did shined a big light in a very dark and vionent time and for that i am truly thankful i just thought everyone should know. thanks for reading SPC Eric Bakken Aco 2-12 IN

I just wanted to post this for Mr. Bremseth's benefit and perhaps he will possibly do the right thing and apologize to the soldier who started this thread. For as you can see below in a pm I recieved from him, time he as on a computer is limited and there are other things on mind besides worrying about appeasing the spelling critics on this forum....
I did not post this in mean spirit, only to call attention to what I thought was a cheap shot to someone that is allowing us to sit behind our computers and have our freedoms.
thanks alot
thanks for calling that guy out im not gona lie it kinda bothered me alot we have a short time limit and at the time we were takeing indirect fire so time was short and i was rushed it just got overlooked lol but just wanted to say thanks SPC Bakken

There was no cheap shot, I simply was being a helpful person... If my intentions were bad I would not have said thank you for your service. Once again, thank you for your service and stay safe! I apologize if you took it in any other way than it was intended.
And Spc Bakken, I see you are also from Minnesota... when you get back if you ever have time to head up North I would be more than willing to take you and get you on some birds. I have a feeling we know some of the same people serving overseas.
Nick- send me a pm next time before you hop on the computer telling me what you think is a cheap shot, and then going on to be a "spelling critic" yourself. It's not the end of the world but the way you handled it was not the best.
edit- spelt is infact a word in the webster dictionary.
